Captain Deadbeard parrot bug - unable to do anything but look around

I was playing TT with a friend earlier and I was playing as Captain Deadbeard. When I tried to transform into the parrot, I was just stuck in the air, unable to move or use any of my abilities at all as they were all blanked out. All I could do was look around. The only way out of it was to bring up the menu and choose the "Respawn" option.

After this happened once, it happened every time I tried to transform into the parrot, making the ability worse than useless.

This is on Xbox One X.
