Cards under the Radar.
A lot of people here complain most of the time about combos or big, flashy dudes that do a lot of things. I personally think that most Decks that are currently really good perform well because they ...
Interesting thoughts about this cards. I agree with most, but not all of them. Let me tell you my personal opinion:
Alien Ooze: I agree that this cards is pretty op. It is able to kill almost any plant for just 3 brains. I think it is good to have some of this cards to try to impulse more Beastly control decks, since the other cheapest removal card was the piano for 4 brains, but relied on the "random" factor to kill a plant. In my opinion, a -5/-5 effect would still be pretty strong, but more friendly to the plants.
Scape through time: It is a meh card for me. It can only save one zombie for one turn (like a pretty small Zombie Coach).
Triplication: I can agree that this card is a hidden op since I used it a LOT on my Ultimate Control Deck, mostly because of the value you can get from it (You can get a Triplication FROM a Triplication!). However the cost is ok. It is almost like skipping an entire turn to get 3 cards into your hand. Almost all the time you get behind on the board if you play this, since your opponent will mostly use their 4 suns to play a big card.
Synchronized Swimmer: Pretty annoying, specially if you don't have amphibious cards. Even more, sometimes you need TWO amphibious cards to kill one Swimmer, because of the health it can get.
Wingnut: Meh card for me. It's health make it a good wall for incoming damage, but nothing more.
Black-eyed-Peas: It's pretty strong if you are playing a heavy trick deck. If you are not, it is kinda meh since it will not grow much. In stat-cost comparison, I hate more the Jugger-Nut, because you cannot block it's attacks.
Poppin poppys: I have never seen this card away from Wall Knight flower deck, so I can't tell much about it. I guess that because it heals you now it will be more played, but I guess we'll have to see.
Banana Launcher: If it had Team-Up, it would be a WAAAAAAY broken card. But because it doesn't, it's pretty meh for me.
Just put a 3 health zombie in front of it. It cannot attack on its own, and the bannana trick you got cannot kill the zombie. You need other removal to deal with the zombie.
Now, if I had to add more op cards under the radar, I would add:
Spikeweed Sector: The fact that it deal 2 damage to the zombie there BEFORE the combat, makes it super strong. It can kill super annoying cards like Hot Dog and Exploding Imp.
Starch-Lord: Just protect it, and it will give you infinite value.
Vegetation Mutation: Like the counter part of Alien Ooze. Fertilize is a 3-cost card that gives a plant +3/+3. Veg.Mut. is a 2-cost card that on its WORSE give a plant +2/+2. Two plants on heights and it is a +4/+4 for 2 suns.
I'll second Spikeweed. It's not insurmountable, but against certain decks it can pretty much shut down an entire lane to zombies.
Spikeweed is defender class. I see no problem with them having good aggro stoppers. Since plants are not exactly great at drawing cards its pretty hard already to play a class thats focused on attrition battles.
just look at how unpopular the defender class heroes are. noone really wants to play wallknight outside a certain horrible combo we don´t want to talk about in this threat. spudow....I haven´t seen a spudow in like...forever. Citron is hard to pull off (just look how people celebrate any remotely good list that pops up here). knuckles is most likely the only really good defender hero because he has the draw and the big boys with good effects to stack up behind the nuts. He is also the only Defender hero with options to clear the board with his superpower.
Pacanolid kinda spiced things up there though
My favorite plant heroes lately are Citron, Wall-Knight and Spudow.
Spikeweed is a major part of that. No Heartichoke needed.
yeah but thats exactly my point. I don´t see why a Card that makes a rather weak class more viable needs to be condemned as "to good"
Although its basicly the same as with Ooze which also boosted the Imho weakest zombie class, so yes, maybe its worth to mention.
I currently play a lot of wallknight as well because he finally got viable. I am actually quite happy about it.
