@realitysquared in the games i've been in we all rush to mid and push triangle dinos prefer to snipe while cats will hunt you down
I just follow the 2 guys taking the flank as the score card updates that the cats just got a 6 kill and now their whole team is hunting the 2 of us
Yeah, in my experience simply charging into the center and activating your Super Beam weapon right away can be disastrous.
While you get the extra damage to the Beam you take a hefty movement penalty and potentially have commited to this before you even know where the opponents are located or what tactics they're going to be using.
With the movement penalty you'd be sitting ducks for any incoming high powered single shot and potentially take a full 600 damage right at the start.
Use of the different abilities needs to be considered strategically- many games I go without powering up the Beam weapon because I value the manueverability more than the extra damage and when I do use it I'm usually at the rear or flank of an unaware opponent and I stay ready to drop it instantly to regain my full mobility.

As a medium skilled player, my strategy is to identify the best player(s) on my team and follow them. I can usually get a vanguish or assist or two while letting the better player deal with most of the getting shot at. And sometimes one can see that it will be effective to break off from the pack and flank.
