Character balancing problems

I do realise that I'm a couple of months late in commenting on the previous character balancing, but I fail to see the rationale in nerfing the Corn characters'  Husk Hop ability when the character's Shuck Shot only works every second or third time.

When in addition, the latest nerfing of the ice characters totally nullifies the freezing ability of AC Perry to the extent that the character relies heavily on actual weapon damage rather than freezing ability, ignores the other zombie character that is in real need of nerfing, namely the Arctic Trooper (at 10%) - as I'm still getting vanquish streaks of 21 - 27 (without sniping - I must add) in Turf Takeover -, makes one wonder whether EA are actually in touch with the gaming world as we players, of an otherwise entertaining game, experience it.

  • I agree that the AC Perry heavy nerfs seem uncalled for, especially considering Arctic Troopers comparatively slight nerf (he's still very good in PvP and was always 10x more prevalent than any engineer variant). Engineers in general will never be that great as long as they are the fattest 125 HP class and stuck with horrible weapons for most of their variants.

As far as Corn, the entire class is fraught with problems because it was a bad idea in the first place. Taking Foot Soldier and making him a big target but giving him extra HP/ammo is just lazy design. The corn feels overpowered and underpowered at the same time because his abilities have insane damage potential but are unreliable and clunky as all hell. This just leads to players just spamming all three abilities as one or even two may not get a kill, but all 3 usually will. I'm honestly not sure what to do about him, though a further nerf to HH (reduce the damage or disallow steering) while making SS a single missile with twice the damage would be a good start.

I must say that I never thought of the Corn character being a souped up version of the soldier class. Interesting. Be that as it may. I too do find that it can be incredibly frustrating playing as a corn, where my results swing from average to the sublime all depending on whether his SS is in the mood to work or not. Personally, I like the combo of an HH followed by a (working) SS when facing a Mech or an All Star, but as of now, it's mainly wishful thinking.
