In this post on reddit, John Lunasco says that Chompers will be removed because of the ROF bug that is being discovered.
Can we finally get Chomper to be balanced after he comes back? Slobber Shot & Grody Goop have been causing me severe problems since day 1.

As you know by now, I think Chomper needs strong abilities to compete with SB's Jump+instakill strategy.
I don't understand why you say you have been having trouble with Grody Goop since day one, as it was only recently made useful. In my opinion SB's abilities are way better, although Chomper is better in certain other ways (mainly secondary weapon and ability to contest objectives with burrow).
But I don't want to turn this into a balancing discussion again, as we have disucssed this in great detail already.
I'm really glad they try to fix something game breaking quickly for once. A hot fix, who would have thought something like this exists at popcap 🤔🙌. having said that, the issue has been around for a few days, so maybe we should call it a still slightly warm fix. One thing that worries me is that they disable him temporarily. Maybe they will just remove him for 2 months, like they did for the Wizard upgrade. This would be an ice cold not actually fix.
I think they should give us a cool item for Chomper as an apology for this crazy mess:
I think it is unfair that plants will have their close range fighter removed, but the zombies will keep theirs. I think they should remove Super Brainz temporarily as well, or add Wildflower to the plant team early.

So did this happen? I read elsewhere that it did not. I've deleted the game so I can't check for myself.
