Chomping without accidentally eating

I find it very frustrating when I try to kill a zombie by biting it to death and the little red circle appears, so I end up eating it accidentally.
You know how with the chomper you have to be in front of the zombie if your intention is to bite it, and be behind it if you want to eat it. At first, I thought that the developers had done this in order to balance the lethality of the chomper. So it would not have a shotgun-type of attack that could be used from all angles, and if you wanted to use it from behind you had to commit to enter a vulnerable state while the zombie is being digested. But then there's variants like the fire, power, and toxic chomper; they can keep their flamethrower going and avoid being in front of the zombie without accidentally eating it.
You may be wondering why I complain about this, since eating the zombie is the easiest way to vanquish it. Well, sometimes you are fighting two or more zombies and maybe you don't want to eat one and be sure you'll be vanquished by the other zombie(s); you might want take your chances by biting them and see if you can actually kill them. Or maybe you know that zombie is low on health and it would be dumb to overkill it by eating it instead of biting. There is many scenarios where I rather chomp zombies instead of eating them.
My suggestion to solve this(if it ever is going to be addressed) is to deactivate the chomp red circle by pressing the left trigger. What do you think? :b

they can just change the zoom function of chomper to biting or spraying only, no swallowing something similar like that. in any case i agree. most of the time i don't want to swallow when using armor chomper or from behind against an imp or a group of zombies with fire chomper. either way they need to give us this option. this would be a great improvement especially for armor chomper.

  • I agree with creating a way to just bite zombies. Spray chompers are fine since you do not need to stand next to the zombie but metal, normal, and disco chomper need to have a "do not eat zombies" or somthing.
