Yeah I noticed too. The game said i earnt around 9000 coins but my total only went up about a third of that. I assumed it was related to the low xp bug which also has a thread here.
While this issue does not really affect players that already do not have anything to spend coins on, this bug would be very annoying for players who still have stuff they could spend their coins on (like newbies), or that like using the XP Machine. My point is, this coin bug for this Weekly Event should be sorted out and patched or fixed.
I think it is wider, played some pve and the coins and XP seemed to be lower. For completing the Bitey Brothers I got 150 coins instead of the usual 500. Maybe this was a deliberate change but the xp felt lower too in pve.
