Community Challenge rewards are underwhelming

I just want to say: PopCap should've thought of adding gestures or appearances from Garden Warfare 1 or anything exclusive to make Community Challenges more rewarding, indicating that we've participated. I was kinda excited at first, but I was very underwhelmed for earning nothing but consumables for 15 million vanquishes. (I heard some of you guys got a Legendary sticker from the blue Chest, but we can get one from Sticker Shops at anytime!)

The only thing I thought it was fun is seeing more people online during a Community Challenge. If they thought of making this more rewarding sooner, it would've been worth my time. But I agree with 25 million being too much for such a small community, maybe if PopCap didn't have to make unnecessary changes to the classes.

  • expect to get no response from a mod. They only respond to errors and bugs. The game would be much better if they didn't focus 99% on twitter. We told them that 25 million vanquishes was impossible. We made it to 18 million which means we are 7 million away. Our fault no, theirs yes. 5 million for coins was ok but a 35k pack for 15 million vanquishes is not ok. Also people think that the 25 million vanquish prize is a bling version of the "armored heal station".

There may be a few factors related to this outcome.

    1. There's not enough people playing GW2.

    2. There's not enough people playing the other multiplayer modes (Team Vanquish, Vanquish Confirmed, Gnome Bomb, Suburbination, Welcome Mat).

    3. There's far too many people playing Turf Takeover, only for coins and not for vanquishes.

I too think that 25 million vanquishes in a certain period is just too high for everyone to reach.

Remember guys it was a holiday weekend.  Maybe we could have gotten closer if it wasn't the fourth of July.  Also remember that these are essentially free rewards.  You still would have played the same amount if the community awards weren't there so I think of them as a freebie.

Turf takeover lasts the longest so people usually overall have way more kills playing that than the other modes. Gnome bomb being the small exception depending on if overtime happens and how long it goes on for (i've played a near 40min game against the AI once)

The main problem i think is that they just didn't give us enough days. Another day or two and we would have gotten it for sure

They had this challenge on 4th of July weekend (US) when a lot of people are going away or cooking out. As said previously maybe not many people playing the game. Does anyone know if they plan on having these challenges again and more often?

  • 18 million vanquishes was pretty decent although I do think that both the top end was set too high and that the rewards were not the most exciting. In future I hope we see more enticing rewards than just a sticker pack and some coins for the 2 tiers we did get and for the top end to be more likely obtainable.

I had no issue getting MP games to pop over the weekend at all on PC. Never waited more than 20 seconds or so. I did go turf takeover as it's my favorite and most popular mode but it was still nice to see a healthy population.
