There might be hackers, however, the PvZ BFN on PC comes with an Anti-Cheat that automatically launch with the game (EasyAntiCheat), so there's honestly barely any hackers onto it. Or if there is, they must be pretty quiet and stealthy about it. In all cases, thanks to the anti-cheat, I doubt BfN will ever become what GW2 PC currently is ('hacker' wise).
But yeah, I agree with the controller thing.
@Gormey Fine, I’ll jump off the cliff then. 👿🙌

I personally love the idea of cross-play and I was really hyped when Apex Legends announced they would support cross-play too. Just knowing cross-play is a possibility for BFN is delightful.
Cross progression is something we have never really heard about in EA Games. It was announced Apex will never support cross progression, which is a bummer, but it would be awesome to keep progress if you switch platforms.

I'd also like to elaborate that in a game like Battle for Neighborville there will be hardly any repercussions to cross play!
The only reasonable one is aim assist being stronger on controller than on KB+Mouse but they could of course tune it up.
KB+Mouse have no advantages over controller. I've heard this so much and it's quite questionable. PC+Controller players do just fine in PC servers so there is no problem.
Cheating shouldn't be too much of a problem. As @epalis highlighted, BFN uses the same anti-cheat as Fortnite and Apex Legends, and I really doubt this would be a problem in a game for young people.
