Odd cause i seem to get insta killed while in the barrel while 2-3 plants attack at once. Maybe im playing to much tdm/confirmed modes. Maybe he's better in turf war and obj modes.
I seem to do alot better with the cactus as opposed to the deadbeard. 20 per shot ain't that much when rose in example have 120 health. Takes a full point on mag to kill her. Unless she gets a health reduction in the nerf, she will still eat alot of bullets. I destroy with the cactus, but deadbeard nah. Don't think i've been killed by his barrel blast one singe time in vanquish, and im level 100. Peashooters bean bomb is effective in all modes.
Which variant you got elite? Haven't had much luck with the flameface, i find the standard one better tbh

I get insta killed in any form when 2-3 plants are attacking me at once.
Objective modes when the goal isn't just to vanquish takes the focus off you more and in the chaos you can get some good vanish streaks. Cactus imo is just a better sniper because he's horrible at close range where as DB's shot gun is great.
I do think DB could have a more defined role but when I need him he seems to be fine, though I'm finding Park Ranger Foot Soldier to be better as of late but he's special vs standard.
I know, but as the barrel apparantly has aton of health i shouldn't be insta killed in it. May have to do with roses' ridiculous damage but still. About the cactus not having a close combat weapon is a good point i didn't think of. Got park ranger myself yesterday haven't tested him yet lol.
Park ranger is probably one of my favorite zombie variants because if played right he can do everything a well rounded character can do...I just got some silly appearance upgrades for him too.
I hardly get a chance to use the barrel because once it's on screen I become the target of everyone's interest. I have found it very useful if you find a high point, go barrel mode, click detonate, and then leap off into a group of plants. It also works very well in graveyard ops.
