Platform:Sony Playstation 4
Please specify your platform model. Sony PlayStation 4 Pro
Please provide your Xbox gamertag or PSN ID. (Optional) Joseph2004045
In what game mode did the bug occur? Everywhere
Summarize your bug This list covers *almost* every bug found in the game, along with some feedback and potential balance improvements.
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? All of these can be re-enacted in your own gameplay.
Which character were you playing when the bug occurred? Peashooter
What upgrades had you equipped with this character? Does not matter.
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)

If the devs are reading this, I just want to thank you all for your hard work during these difficult times! It means a lot to our community as a whole and I also hope you thank me for putting time and effort into making this list. (This list took me four days) It would also mean a lot to me!

As of the latest May 26th update, this is a list that covers most bugs in the game, along with some feedback and potential balance improvements. I found all of these by myself.

Also, I know you guys are already working on some of these bugs, (No water on Tourist Trap Island, fire rate exploit for Imp, Acorn Passenger dealing no critical damage, etc.) but don't stress about this list! Please take your time to fix the ones you're working on right now and fix these later on if the community and the developer teams agree to fix these that I mentioned. I would recommend taking a handful out of this list alongside every balance update if that does happen but some of these that are mentioned are very minor issues and can (hopefully) be fixed with ease.

Tip Text (*typo*)

  • "Wizard's Zee-lixir can *the break* spell of Rose's Arcane Enigma" instead of "Wizard's Zee-lixir can *break the* spell of Rose's Arcane Enigma."

Head-Glitching (*issue & possible solution for issue*)

  • Players are able to damage others without exposing their hitbox around corners. (Add shoulder swap so the player on the recieving end can fight back.)

Rough Patch (*balance*)

  • Rough Patch health is orange instead of yellow and does not deplete like overhealth.

Sprinting #1 (*bug*)

  • The player's strafe and backpedal speed are reduced for a short time after the player stops sprinting. (Affects all characters that can sprint.)

Sprinting #2 (*issue & possible solution for issue*) (two for one potential)

  • Sprinting and bunny-hopping in my opinion should get a rework. (Add sprinting stamina and jumping fatigue but revert change where sprint speed and jump height are reduced for a short time after taking damage.) This might fix Sprinting #1 bug because before this mechanic was implemented, I never experienced the strafe and backpedal slowdown after sprinting.

Battle Arena (*four bugs, I am not sure about the last bug if it is intended to keep you at C-*)

  • Games that you win tend to not count, as well as losses but rare. (Happens on both maps.)
  • On the newest Battle Arena Map, the Zombie A.I. pathing leads the zombie A.I. into a wall on the second floor located close to where you spawn as zombies and they get stuck there by endlessly sprinting into it until a plant enters their line of site, finally stopping to fire back at them and (I think) fixing the A.I. pathing.
  • If there was one or more A.I. bots in the lobby, the screen that shows the rank and the yellow progress bar is not shown at the end of the game. (Happens on both maps.) If there was one or more A.I. bots in the lobby, the podium screen is shown, but no players are up there and instead there's just the five podiums. (Happens on both maps.)
  • Placement matches don't give the player a headstart on the ladder depending on how many placement matches the player wins or loses. For each placement match won, it should boost them up by two ranks from C-. (Ex: 1 win, C+. 2 wins, B. 3 wins, A-. 4 wins, A+. 5 wins, M2.)

Battle Arena (*honest feedback*)

  • Remove A.I. backfill for Battle Arena. To be honest, the A.I. does not work well if the A.I. are on your team because you can't communicate with them and they get vanquished too easily because of their predictable A.I. pathing and movement. However, the A.I. can be very useful at times because of their insane aimbot. Instead, add a system so if one player leaves, the match ends in a draw and both teams will not receive a win or loss, but the leaver receives a loss and a leave penalty. (This may or may not fix the issue with Battle Arena.)

Boss

Gargantuar & Mech Gargantuar (*bug*)

  • The explosive attacks that Gargantuar and Mech Gargantuar launches deal splash damage through walls.

Ops

Garden Ops (*bug*)

  • Gargantuar Brothers Elite Boss is missing a second gargantuar, and instead there is text during the transition cut-scene right before the Elite Boss fight begins when Crazy Dave says along the lines of "Oh! You have defeated one of the brothers! Destroy his tombstone before he gets back up!" indicating that one of the gargantuars are already downed before the Elite Boss fight begins.

Graveyard Ops

Daisy Drive (*bug*)

  • There is a missing Build-a-Bot station that is intended to be located beside a yellow house that is close to an orange van, and the orange van is close to the Grave-O-Matic. There is a Pot-a-Plant (I don't know the name of it) located there when defending as Plants but when Zombies are defending, they are missing a Build-a-Bot station there.

Super Bean (*bug*)

  • If a Super Bean boss has been alive for about a minute, no icon is shown, forcing the squad to spread out and look for him all over the map.

PvE Regions

Transition Into Region Cutscene (*bug*)

  • If you try to skip the cutscene that takes you in any PvE region early without the cutscene being played, the skip option gets disabled and no cutscene is shown.

Town Center: Plants

Bounty Hunt: Byte Knight (*bug*)

  • Byte Knight tends to not attack and follow the player after objective 1 is complete. (Out of three objectives.)

Activity: Plumbing Gig (*bug*)

  • Activity tends to end early and count as 'completed' because of more than one player participating in the activity.

Olds Cool (*exploit and possible solution for exploit*)

  • When close to Olds Cool, the player is able to strafe to the right and damage Olds Cool at the same time without worrying about the tiles damaging the player, making the boss fight much easier during that period. (Increase tile turn speed so that it outruns Peashooter's strafing speed with Pea Suped active and with Speedy equipped and that the player has to destroy the lit up tiles.)

Weirding Woods

[removed]

Dreadwood Boss Fight (*bug*)

  • If the player takes cover right behind the first container, the wind pushes the player back.

Town Center: Zombies

Quest: Parade Gloat (*bug*)

  • Browncoats have their own healing aura and are able to heal, as if they are Heal-Flag Zombies but with less health and normal Browncoat animations.

Quest: Parade Gloat Ending Cutscene (*bug*)

  • The Parade Gloat Quest ending cutscene has a weed (Vase Weed) that is clipping through it's own vase, the vase is dipping underground and the vase is turned roughly about 90 degrees counter-clockwise, making it not look like the A.I. character model you see in Turf Takeover. You can see the bug happening at the right of the cutscene.

Characters

Plants

Peashooter (*four bugs*)

  • Peashooter completely breaks his reload animation if you reload to cancel sprint in an online game.
  • If the player has toggle aim activated and uses Chili Bean Bomb while hovering with Pea Suped active, it cancels hovering until the player presses the hover button to hover again.
  • Peashooter always has a completely broken Chili Bean Bomb spit animation if the player uses Chili Bean Bomb while hovering in the air with Pea Suped active.
  • Peashooter always has a completely broken reload animation if you reload while hovering in the air with Pea Suped active.

Chomper (*bug*)

  • Melee hit registration inconsistent.

Kernel Corn (*two bugs*)

  • Kernel Corn completely breaks his reload animation if you reload to cancel sprint in an online game. (With & without Shogun Guard primary weapon.)
  • Kernel Corn's Butter Beacon effect on Zombies get removed from healing.

Kernel Corn's Shogun Guard (*four bugs*)

  • Reload animation always interrupts the most if automatically reloading at 0 ammo.
  • If Kernel Corn spawns or respawns with Shogun Guard on a sloped surface, his shield tilts when you pull it up and the bug goes away upon getting vanquished as long as he does not respawn on a sloped surface again. (Spawn in Town Center: Plants or Mount Steep as Kernel Corn with Shogun Guard and pull up your shield. If it's tilted, it means you spawned on a sloped surface.)
  • Shogun Guard is able to absorb both direct and splash damage from 80's Action Hero's 3rd charged shot, Rocket Ride, Can't-Miss-ile, Engineer's primary weapon, and Mech's Missile Madness, but takes splash damage from ZPG and Super Ultra Ball abilities.
  • Shogun Guard blocks the knock up effect from Super Brainz' Hyper Jump Thump.

Night Cap (*two bugs, balance, exploit & possible solution for balance*)

  • Night Cap completely breaks her reload animation if you reload to cancel sprint in an online game.
  • Reload animation always interrupts the most if automatically reloading at 0 ammo.
  • Uppercut for Fung Fu sends zombies too high up in the air, reducing damage over the ability cast duration. (Reduce the amount of levitation per damage tick so it does the same amount of damage over the ability cast duration as if you were using Fung Fu without the Uppercut upgrade.)
  • [Removed]

Snapdragon (*four bugs and possible solution for second bug*)

  • Jumping while sprinting animation changes if you cancel ranged attack animation early after firing ranged attack.
  • Blue Blazes direction matches player strafe direction. (Completely remove the delay before the ability actually homes on.)
  • Blazing Trail direction somewhat matches player strafe direction.
  • Snapdragon's character model gets frozen but is able to do everything normally if stunned by Engineer while casting the Swoop Slam ability.

Cactus (*bug*)

  • Cactus completely breaks her reload animation if you reload to cancel sprint in an online game.

Citron (*four bugs, exploit, possible solution for the third bug & possible solution for exploit*)

  • Splash damage and abilities go through the Peel Shield if the projectile lands at the upper-left or upper-right corner of the Peel Shield hitbox using Foot Soldier's ZPG, Mech's Missile Madness, Super Brainz' Super Ultra Ball, 80's Action Hero's 3rd charged shot, Rocket Ride, Can't-Miss-ile, Engineer's primary weapon, Bullhorn Swarm, Wizard's Zee-Lixir and Co-Star's primary weapon. (For Co-Star's primary weapon, the projectiles hit the upper middle part of the Peel Shield for the splash damage to go through.)
  • Peel Shield does not consistently block splash damage from the dynamite explosions in the quest 'Treasure Hunt' from Exposition A.I. in Mount Steep, Major Problem's Barrage attack in Mount Steep, 80's Action Hero's Dynamite Dodge, Robo-Zombie's primary attack, Gargantuar's Explosive Imp attack and Mech Gargantuar's Explosive attack splash damage.
  • Citron is able to recharge his shield with Kinetic Energy if a potted plant the Citron player planted deals damage to a zombie. (Recharge Peel Shield by only dealing damage from his primary weapon.)
  • If Citron spawns or respawns on a sloped surface, his shield tilts when you pull it up and the bug goes away upon getting vanquished as long as he does not respawn on a sloped surface again. (Spawn in Town Center: Plants or Mount Steep as Citron and pull up your shield. If it's tilted, it means you spawned on a sloped surface.)
  • Citron is able to use the EMPeach ability while in ball form if you use EMPeach first then sprint. (Add internal cooldown to his sprint mechanic when the player presses the EMPeach button so that it matches casting time for his EMPeach ability. (Sprinting is disabled while casting EMPeach and right after the ability is launched, Citron is able to sprint again.))

Acorn (*bug*)

  • Acorn completely breaks his reload animation if you reload to cancel sprint in an online game.

Oak (*two bugs*)

  • The camera jerks back and forth while moving forward and strafing left or right but still moving forward, messing up aim. (Ex: Keyboard buttons A & W or D & W.)
  • If you press the fire button, the recoil kicks up higher than it's supposed to be because if you were to hold the fire button, it lowers the recoil. If you press the fire button again after the shooting animation ends, (Oak just holding his primary weapon) the recoil will kick up higher at the same increased height again.

Acorn Passenger (*bug*)

  • No longer deals critical damage.

Sunflower (*two bugs, the last bug?*)

  • Sunflower completely breaks her reload animation if you reload to cancel sprint in an online game.
  • With the 'Cocoon' upgrade, plants aren't able to keep the extra 15 overhealth. (I'm assuming this is due to balance.)

Rose (*two bugs*)

  • Rose completely breaks her reload animation if you reload to cancel sprint in an online game.
  • Reload animation always interrupts the most if automatically reloading at 0 ammo.

Zombies

Foot Soldier (*four bugs*)

  • Foot Soldier's ZPG completely ignores natural cover but not shields.
  • Foot Soldier completely breaks his reload animation if you reload to cancel sprint in an online game.
  • Foot Soldier tends to have his character model completely frozen but is able to do everything normally and his gun and right arm are located above his waste while standing still and while moving the camera. Bug goes away when you walk.
  • Foot Soldier tends to move his model to the left while standing still and moving the camera (All of these do not happen at once.) Try to get these two last bugs by playing in the PvE Regions, Ops or Multiplayer because I have no idea what causes these to happen.

Imp (*three bugs & exploit*)

  • Imp completely breaks his reload animation if you reload to cancel sprint in an online game.
  • Reload animation always interrupts the most if automatically reloading at 0 ammo.
  • Toggle aim no longer works for Imp but works for Mech and every other character. (Plants and Zombies.)
  • [removed]

Super Brainz (*six bugs, issue, three exploits, possible solution for issue & two possible solutions for the last two exploits*)

  • Melee hit registration inconsistent.
  • Super Brainz tends to have his character model completely frozen but is able to do everything normally and he will not move his arms while standing still and while moving the camera. Bug goes away when you walk. Try to get this bug by playing in the PvE Regions, Ops or Multiplayer because I have no idea what causes this to happen.
  • Super Brainz' Ultra Flying Fist projectile placement is slightly incorrect.
  • Alpha Better Shield is unable to block Peashooter's Chili Bean Bomb, Kernel Corn's Husk Hop, Nightcap's Final Blow in Fung Fu, Snapdragon's Swoop Slam, Acorn's Sap Trap, Oak's Super Sap Trap, Squash's Self Destruct and Spooky Squash's close-range stun attack splash damage. (Damages the player for full amount of splash damage.)
  • Alpha Better Shield does not consistently block splash damage from Pea Cannon's primary weapon, Dreadwood's Super Sap Trap Burst attack, Dreadwood's Super Sap Trap Barrage attack, Peashooter's Homing Pea upgrade primary weapon, Chomper's Halitosis upgrade for his Slobber Shot, Kernel Corn's Shuck Shot ability, Snapdragon's Flare Ball and Dreadroot's primary attack splash damage. (Player takes the splash damage.)
  • If Super Brainz spawns or respawns on a sloped surface, his shield tilts when you pull it up and the bug goes away upon getting vanquished as long as he does not respawn on a sloped surface again. (Spawn in Weirding Woods as Super Brainz and pull up your shield. If it's tilted, it means you spawned on a sloped surface.)
  • Plants are able to damage Super Brainz by landing shots on his left arm while holding up Alpha Better Shield. (Disable left arm hitbox as long as shield is up.)
  • Super Brainz is able to get increased speed, height and distance for Hyper Jump Thump if you look up, sprint and jump before using the ability.
  • If Super Brainz has the Extra Special upgrade on, he is able to launch the Super Ultra Ball and can punch while the shield is up. (Reduce duration of the Extra Special upgrade to match the delay time to do everything normally again.)
  • [removed]

80's Action Hero (*two bugs*)

  • Marks created by landed shots on Plants get removed from healing.
  • There tends to be endless audio from Rocket Ride where the 80's Action Hero player previously used the ability from.

Electric Slide (*two bugs*)

  • Electric Slide completely breaks her reload animation if you reload to cancel sprint in an online game.
  • Reload animation always interrupts the most if automatically reloading at 0 ammo.

Captain Deadbeard (*bug*)

  • Captain Deadbeard completely breaks his reload animation if you reload to cancel sprint in an online game.

All-Star (*two bugs*)

  • If you are inside or outside and at the very edge of the Dummy Shield bubble hitbox but not clipping through it, (Gun does not count as hitbox) the bubble is unable to block Peashooter's Chili Bean Bomb, Kernel Corn's Husk Hop, Snapdragon's Swoop Slam, Snapdragon's Blazing Trail, Acorn's Sap Trap, Oak's Super Sap Trap, Squash's Self Destruct and Spooky Squash's close-range stun attack splash damage. (Damages the player for full amount of splash damage.)
  • If you are inside or outside and at the very edge of the Dummy Shield bubble hitbox but not clipping through it, (Gun does not count as hitbox) the bubble does not consistently block Pea Cannon's primary weapon, Dreadwood's Super Sap Trap Burst attack, Dreadwood's Super Sap Trap Barrage attack, Peashooter's primary weapon, Peashooter's Homing Pea upgrade primary weapon, Chomper's Halitosis upgrade for his Slobber Shot, Kernel Corn's Shuck Shot, Snapdragon's Flare Ball, Snapdragon's Radiate upgrade for his Flare Ball, Snapdragon's Blue Blazes, Garlic Drone's Big Bulb Barrage, Citron's EMPeach, Oak's primary weapon, Rose's Jinx, Wildflower's knock up explosive, (all variations of Wildflower) Dandelion's Self Destruct, Dreadroot's primary attack, Bitter Dill's primary attack, Sunflower Queen's primary attack, Hypno Flower Queen's primary attack and Spooky Squash's primary attack splash damage. (Player takes the splash damage.)

Space Cadet (*three bugs, exploit & possible solution for exploit*)

  • Space Cadet completely breaks her reload animation if you reload to cancel sprint in an online game.
  • [Removed]
  • Space Cadet while sprinting always has a completely broken jumping animation, (Not leaning forward and arms are not backwards.) but instead has the jumping while walking animation while sprinting. (If that makes sense.)
  • [Removed]

Space Station (*bug, exploit & possible solution for exploit*)

  • The camera jerks back and forth while moving forward and strafing left or right but still moving forward, messing up aim. (Ex. Keyboard buttons A & W or D & W.)
  • Space Station is able to move faster in Crater Maker if you jump before using the ability. (Delete all momentum carry from jumping for all characters.)

Scientist (*three bugs, balance?*)

  • Scientist completely breaks his reload animation if you reload to cancel sprint in an online game. (With & without Steam Blaster.)
  • Reload animation always interrupts the most if automatically reloading at 0 ammo. (With and without Steam Blaster.)
  • Sticky Healy Thingy does not heal the sprinting zombie if thrown and stuck to the sprinting zombie.
  • To balance non-stop AoE healing, add a resource meter for Healing Hose on the left side of the reticle (so that way the Goatify meter doesn't interfere) that starts out full and has roughly 2.5x faster auto refill than Rose's Thorn Apart but drains the same rate at which the Healing Hose resource meter refills (similar to Rose's Thorn Apart meter but has 4 sections instead of 5. (25%, 50%, 75%, 100%.))

Wizard (*six bugs*)

  • Sometimes, Wizard's staff disappears to other players (Plants and Zombies) but only the Wizard player can see his own staff.
  • Wizard completely breaks his reload animation if you reload to cancel sprint in an online game.
  • Reload animation always interrupts the most if automatically reloading at 0 ammo.
  • Mashing the fire button for Wizard's primary weapon (rapid fire) has a short pause before continuing to fire. The bug happens again if you mash the fire button after Wizard lowers his staff from attacking. (End of attack animation)
  • Wizard always has a completely broken jumping animation while sprinting.
  • Wizard in Co-Star can become invincible and can move freely by rapidly teleporting between zombies, then exit and wait for the zombie that you most recently left vanquish a plant. (I might be incorrect about this process because I have very little knowledge about what causes the bug, but Two-Headed Dragon DOES NOT cause the bug and it's the ability itself that is causing it! Two Headed Dragon causes the bug to last longer by getting vanquishes.

Turf Takeover

Tourist Trap Island (*two bugs*)

  • No water.
  • Frame rate drops during gameplay. (Unknown cause for this one.)

Turning Point (*bug*)

  • Batteries tend to bug out and are not allowed to be picked up.

    Thanks for the list.

If we see anything adjacent to the suggestions here, we'll let folks know.

Edit: and yes this has been sent to the dev team.
