[Discussion] Content Removed From GW2
A list of everything taken from us.
This will not include limited time events such as unicorn or twilight chomper as they were meant to be limited time and even now can still at least be bought irl.
We all have gripes with gw2's last days like its handling of wallnut hills and balancing but this list will be more focused on content that use to be commonplace until popcap took the axe to it.
1. Mystery portal modes such as Boss hunt, cats vs dinos, soil survivors, and the community challenges. In losing these we also lost the cosmetics and achievements that went with them are no longer with us ever since support for the game ended as the set mystery portal rotation we got did not include these modes for whatever reason.
Their achievements being Alright meow (full game as cats), open the door get on the floor (full game as dino), boss battle (beat a hunt on normal), boss battle specialist (beat a hunt on hard), boss battle boss (beat a hunt on crazy), team player (contribute to 3 challenges), Together we win (open 5 community chests).
The cosmetics related to these modes we no longer have are sasqautch's hat for peashooter, spooky squash's bucket for scientist, brothers gizmo crown for foot soldier, and the yeti kings crown for kernel corn. Alongisde several variations depending on difficulty.
2. Hover goat 3000 and Torchwood skins which use to purchasable from Rux for 750,000 coins.
They still exist but only if you buy the torch and tail upgrade.
I don't understand why they removed them since impatient players can still buy all of them from the upgrade so why not leave them in the shop cycle so players can get them but the torch and tail upgrade makes it easier?
3. The legendary spawnables: Perfume shroom, golden gatling bot, Monk choy, and DJ Uplink bot.
Perfume and golden gatling were just shiny reskins but monk choy and DJ actually affect gameplay as they're buffed so why can we not longer get them?!
They use to cost 25,000 in rux's store but they now no longer exist! WHY?! I saw a DJ a few days ago in ops and it was like seeing an endangered species, why must it be this way?
If not in Rux why not just add them into the regular spawnable packs with legendary rarity.
Now they'll eventually just be gone all together when the last player uses theirs!
4. The lawn of doom sleepy bat is still in the game around october and the backyard spawns halloween minions but around feastivius the snowman no longer appears alongisde no unique backyard spawns. The same applies for the rabbit during spring and mr lucky.
Why is the lawn of doom bat still allowed but no one else. What is this? Why? So you can keep the bat in but not spooky squash's hunt in the same darn month?
Sure the cosmetics can still be gotten in packs but this is just blatantly sloppy to have one then axe all the rest, did popcap forgot about the bat and that's why he lives?
5. Hero showcases
Not as much of an issue but since new players still get gw2 why was this just not put on a rotation on it to atleast present the variant system to first time players.
This game was not left in a finished state at all. Content that use to be commonplace is now no longer available to the player for no good reason. Entire gamemodes will no longer be known to new players who purchase the game.
The set rotation is so bad as it didn't take any of the achievements into consideration
They didn't even bother to put the legendary spawnables into rux's store.
The lawn of doom bat just kind lf proves a lot of this stuff just not being thought out.
How did they use the remaining dev power to create the most braindead and unthoughout rotation their could be. We still lucky that capture the taco and lawn of doom somehow survived because maybe they were too busy to notice something fun actually slip through.
If the theory of making it lackluster so players would move to bfn than that's just scummy.
****, if I knew anything about programming and coding i'd offer to fix the darn thing myself.
It's even worse knowing modders have gone through the difficulty of adding this stuff back AND making it work!
I got stop this stuff is making me angry while typing it.
