DLC Maps/Map Packs

To be honest 😇, I would not mind buying things that cost real money as add-ons if they are not customisations, because (even though customisations are excellent) they provide more content into gameplay. Map packs would give people something else to play for - give them more incentive! Map packs, alternate abilities, new characters, new character upgrades (and so on) would be great, as it would give the game more variety if added.

By adding remakes of older GW maps, people would be familiar with them and happy to play on those maps as that's what they're used to (at least before BFN's release)!

It'd probably be better if they cost rainbow stars ⭐ if map DLCs were added instead of coins due to it otherwise being too easy to obtain (but if they cost rainbow stars the game could become more so pay to win)! 🤔

These maps would be purchasable for real money (and most of us who hadn't stock-piled currency for them would buy them with real money the first day they were available) as we could simply buy Rainbow Stars to buy maps.  I only suggested stars as currency first so these maps could be earned in game.  

I should've clarified that in my initial post (facepalm).

EDIT:  I also think this would qualify as Pay To Play (which many dislike including myself) not Pay To Win (that would be abilities or superior characters).... but it would be better than our current online experience that's heavily lacking in map diversity.

I'm not a fan of DLC map packs as it will divide an already small community. As some of us buy pretty much everything (like me), some will not and then when you queue up it will either have to skip maps some of us have but others in queue do not or have a separate queue for those without packs and with (and perhaps further subdivided for people that have all map packs, while some will have pack 1 but not 2 or 3, some have 3 but not 1 or 2, etc.). 

While letting us use all the coins we're sitting on and adding them to prize maps isn't a bad idea (and man, do we need something to spend coins on), it could still have this issue as some people play less and can't keep up but will still want to queue up for matches. 

I do want more maps and especially maps we love from GW1 and 2. To make more money for the game, I'd rather have stuff we can buy that won't damage the queue; more character slots is one I'd gladly pay money for, as one example. Edit: 3 slots per character is not going to be enough, especially as more costumes become available!

This was my initial concern at this proposal. From reading posts here we already have some lobby problems. In a much larger active community we could get away with some people having maps while others don't but at the games current state it could cause more fill problems as some of the community was pulled to other maps while others were not, spreading a thin player base thinner.

@Iron_Guard8  Dividing a community is indeed the number one counter for any type of P2P content but I think BfN with 12 more maps in December would have 5x the community as BfN with the same 3-4 maps it has now for each mode in December.

Its just gonna separate already not big player base. I bet that 60-70% won't buy new maps. Its okay if devs want to earn additional money with skins, but actual playable content should be awailable for everyone. Even if its could be awailable to get with stars, how much time dude will spend to earn 1000? 

Honestly im not in the mood to spend a single coin on BFN, im too disapointed.

I think sales of maps would far supersede Legendary cosmetics and if we were allowed to exchange coins for Bulbs and Bulbs for Rainbow Stars, people would spend much more time in-game (even after completing the monthly prize map).  This would also allow EVERYONE (PvP and PvE crowds on all platforms) to play for the same prizes.  We could continue to have the option to buy Rux skins with Rainbow Stars, too, maps would just be additional content.

Optionally (an option we'd probably all prefer): sale maps for COINS and keep Rux items as is with Rainbow Stars.

Indeed.

Without $ in a low player base, how can developers justify creating new maps?  That’s my only concern is there’s not enough revenue to justify more content without more money.

By allowing DLC maps to be earned and bought, it would mend the gap between those with maps and those without, kinda like being able to earn Hover Goat and Stump in GW2?

EDIT: regardless of how maps would be added, where do you ( @TLEsquire  - or anyone who’d like to join the discussion) see this game’s community in a year?
