Electric Slide tips?

I never thought I would struggle with Electric Slide as so many people play her I assumed she is now OP.

I haven't got her to Master yet, so maybe I just need more practice but I really don't enjoy playing her in PvP at all.

So for those Electric Slide mains out there... Any tips on getting results with her?

  • @34975634954957 I don't main her (still mastering everyone), but love playing her & mastered her a while back. I chose her for this week's character challenges & was quite disappointed I got them all finished in 2 games of Ops, as really enjoyed playing her again!

I think of her as a lot like Rose - very powerful, once you've got her range right & also dramatically improves as you level her up.
The Disco Tornado is a great tool for taking health off a group, it's just a question of timing the activation of it.
Funky Bouncer is incredibly useful for pushing attackers away from you or from objectives you're defending - great fun in Ops sending AIs off the edge of a cliff in Weirding Woods or Rocky Flats!!!

Not much help, I'm afraid - but hopefully one of the guys'll be able to give you better tips!
  • I’ve mained her since alpha.  It actually makes my stomach churn seein so many people abusing her right now.

Upgrades are important.  I prefer the ones that deal more arc damage, reload and regen health in the electric spark mode, or upgrades that get abilities back faster.

Her fire rate rate is slow now but lethal now dealing heavy damage.  I like to throw the tornado to the point where it goes past them and push them into it with retreating from my primary.  If they stay and play I’ll use my anti gravity ability to launch them into it.  You also have to detonate the tornado thingy.

If a level has a cliff or water (not cheese!!!) try to position yourself to just launch them off the edge.  Ding ding ding ding!

Theres really only only two ways to fail with her.  Not hitting your primary shots, and not having the upgrade that lets you heal and reload while in your spark ability.  If you don’t have that last upgrade prepare to run, a lot.  Usually they will chase you.  Find a cliff or water near by and lead them to it.  Most levels have plenty of it.

You can also detonate your tornado in the spark ability. You just have to launch it prior.

  • Electric Slide is one of my current favorites- I'm trying not to play her too much while a bunch of my other Zombies still need leveling up.

I agree with @dwooten77 for his tips.

I think the toughest part with Electric Slide is that she seems to demand a bit more accuracy with your shots- sort of the way the Sunflower demanded accuracy in GW2. Before they nerfed her rate of fire you could make up for accuracy with just spamming bolts but not so much now.
I agree that if you have a hard time landing your shots you won't have a good experience with her so proper distance, positioning and aiming can lead to more fun once you get your accuracy down.

The ability to have her bolts arc to additional targets is extremely handy when you encounter Plants moving as a tactical group- the fact that they might be bunched up makes it easier to hit someone even with inaccurate fire and then the arcing kicks in and spreads the damage around.
  • Thanks for adding the more professional advice, guys!!

@dwooten77 What happens with cheese? Never tried it! Especially thanks for the upgrade tips, I haven't experimented that much with them since mastering, so will check mine in the morning!

I've been doing even better with Electric Slide since that change to the fire rate, which I thought I'd struggle with as several people said they didn't like it, so found it interesting you compared it with the accuracy needed by Sunflower @realitysquared - Sunflowers being my GW2 main might explain why I feel more comfortable & enjoy playing the character.

@ToastedSarnie Launching someone off a cliff, water, or electric pool gives you the vanquish.  Cheese does not.  It’s the GW1 way of respawn. You can have someone down to 1% and have felt all the damage and not get the vanquish.

Thanks for the tips. I'll definitely try the suggested upgrades and work on my aim more (I'm too used to aimbot Rose!)
