The potato mines are useless against the Energy Warp because it detonates them (the scientist is invulnerable while using it)
and if the mines are near to the tall nut, it destroys them.same as in GW1.
But the tall nut are still an obstacle but it is also a good idea to have a carnivore nearby to eliminate those who try to jump them.
It's been an issue since GW1. Energy Warp isn't very popular normally but it has its value as it can set off spikeweeds and potato mines with impunity. It's use in Wall-Nut Hills is indeed powerful at the last point as if the Scientist can get close enough and then use it, you can't stop him from getting inside if there's any gap he can sneak through as you can enter the mansion in warp mode.
Any ability that gives a zombie extra speed or bursts of movement help get in the mansion but energy warp is far and away the best for this.
