Engineer drone ability is back?

Well I don't think they removed it fast enough since we are still getting the sticker in the packs.  Thanks for the  screenshot since I missed mine Killshot 🙂

PopCap is obviously holding back alternate abilities and have been dribbling out "Classic" Stickers through the Community Portal for some time now so a return of the Engineers Drone shouldn't be dismissed completely.

However based on the screenshot posted by @jiponwheels the image looks vertically compacted to me, and doesn't appear the way I would expect finished Sticker art to look so my general opinion based only on the appearance of the image on the card is that it's a placeholder. If I am correct and it is a placeholder then there are two possibilities; either the Drone is making  return but they haven't applied the art to the Sticker as of yet or the Drone was initially planned for the game, the card designed with a placeholder image, but ultimately that alternate ability was abandoned and left unfinished and the code is, for whatever glitchy reason, tossing the defunct card into the Birthdayz Packs as the Bonus Card.

I would love to have the drones back. The big bolt blaster is cool but I have fond memories of those drones from GW1!

but why would they bring it back? popcap has stated that the drone was removed due to polly and it would of given the zombies an unfair advantage to have 2 drones

Personally I don't expect it to return but I also won't rule it out entirely because obviously there was some development in that direction as evidenced by the card some people mistakenly received.

As I stated before; the artwork shown on the Sticker looks crude compared to the artwork on all other cards so I think it's most likely that they started development in that direction but ultimately abandoned the ability and, because the practice is pretty common, simply left the disused art and whatever code might have been made already hidden away in the finished game.

I find it very difficult to believe that the Engineer's Zombot Drone/Rocket Drone ability will ever make a return to the series. It's just not possible. Because of his new BB Blaster, he no longer has the honour of having both abilities available at once. Therefore, the drone ability falls in favour of the Pirate class and their Parrot Pal ability, freeing up space for the Engineer to use his BB Blaster.

I believe the drones removal was beacuse of his name "engineer" where engi classes typically can plop down a turret where as he pulls out a drone

I too had heard that the engineer drones were removed due to having the parrot for the pirate. However having 2 classes with drones on one side doesn't really matter since if you really want a lot of drones you could just use more pirates.

I'd like to see the drones back for several purposes: 1-nostalgia from GW1, 2-the ability to use the big bolt blaster or a drone gives the engineer greater versatility and I'd like to see more of this in the GW series, and 3-I'm a big fan of more abilities for our characters.
