360 player, have been playing since June 2014 (my oldest achievement is June 13, 2014), but took about a 3 month break, then another break and only started playing again about a month ago. Live in the US, Hawaii to be more specific.
Have the same issue that many others are having, after logging in, connecting to EA servers, and launching a game mode (aside from hosting Garden Ops), I receive a message stating that I'm unable to join a session, check network connection and try again. Occasionally if I change game modes, choosing Classic G&G instead of normal, I can get in, but sometimes not. There are times when every game mode I encounter the same issue except for hosting a Garden Ops.
As stated before, I've followed Basti's cache clear/title delete & download technique to the letter and have not found this to be a solution to the issue. As also stated before, the problem is erratic and inconsistent, with no logical pattern as to when it occurs. Late nights for me, sometimes I can get in, other times not, prime time/afternoons (typically the busiest) is the same way.
Do you happen to have ports forwarded? Whats your NAT settings?
The fact that you're only able to host a Garden Ops session without issue sort of shows it's a connection issue, seems like you're unable to connect to other players or EA servers.

Toaster,
Would that still be the case if the problem is intermittent? My son was playing G&G with no issue a couple hours ago and after logging out of his session to look at our stats in the stickerbook, is unable to get back in to G&G. Is that an actual open port issue?

Toaster I am having the same issue, I have played the game in the past, and i have never had this issue before, till my previous game session (07-27-15)
