You absolutely do not have to wait until turn 10 to use that combo. In fact, I never have.
You can put the first one out on any turn that the zombie hero doesn't leave enough brains to deal with it.
After every update I check to see if this exploit is still working, and I usually pull it off on turn 6 or 7.

the discussion about turn 10 is that, assuming the opponents block meter isn't nearly full - turn 10 is guaranteed death. (you would also need 2 empty lanes tho)

I think it is hard to argue this as a bug or unintended outcome. This combination is featured in one of the single player missions.
Take a moment to work out the logic of it, and look at some examples of it in the field and you will see that it is both logical within the game and, occassionally, stoppable.
Just cause you don't like it doesn't make it unfair, or even op.

this combination of strongberry and berry blast is featured - but the endless loop is not

Fair.
There are multiple game terminating cards that can be played with 8-12 sun/brains that either win the game out right or put you on the edge of winning.
This is no different, in fact it's harder to play this combo rather than most of the "super" cards.
Ultimately, if someone was just sitting on the strawberry cards and you didn't manage to defeat him/her, it's your fault.
If they put the strawberries in play and you allowed them to live, it's your own fault.
