Final hero selection Missing after restart app

Same thing happened to me. I contacted support and he told me to "beat a level" and when I asked for clarification he said it's a bug and to post in the forums and closes my case without telling me if this was going to be fixed (hang tight) or if I needed to make a new account to get the hero or what.. clueless on a solution
