FIX THE CACTUS

First, scratch the damage build-up on both Cactus and deadbeard.  You can 4-or-less shot most characters in under a second with it (97+8+8+8); it is ridiculously overpowered, and too similar to the 80s star crossbow.  Second, BRING BACK THE WALLNUTS.  The jump ability isn't bad, but without any barrel-type escape ability, the cactus needs it to block enemy fire.  Third, ditch the close range weapon.  Deadbeard should be unique.  What you should do instead is make the crosshair smaller at close-range, up the firing rate of the normal spike shot, and reduce recoil.  Boom.  Your cactus is effective at mid range, and will be able to hit those cadets and imps without an overused mechanic. Fourth, ditch the blackout scope view for both deadbeard and Cactus.  It's jarring and out of place, and you can't see your sides.  Last, don't make the spike and spyglass projectiles look identical.  It's confusing.  Instead the GW1 style projectiles should work nicely for the cactus.  They look more plant-y anyways.  If you implement these changes, deadbeard and cactus will be different yet balanced characters, the both characters will be more fun and satisfying to play, you will know whether a cactus or pirate is shooting next to you, and you can feast your eyes on some adorable tallnuts again.

  • I have to disagree about many things with this.

Firstly, I'll address Cactus. Cactus is in desperate need of wall-nuts, I'm with you all the way on that. However, I think the automatic spike shot needs to disappear all together. For something automatic use the garlic drone (oraddsomevariantsjustsayin). The damage increase while scoped is ridiculous, and needs to be removed.

Now on to deadbeard, I think he's perfect as-is (Except the charged shots). His Barrel ability is up-close, and that's when the shotgun shines. He's good for people who are either in the back or at the front lines. His grappling thing is amazing for this mobility as well; Bring yourself to a group of plants and go ham, or on the other hand, you're able to escape danger and return to sniping.

  • "The jump ability isn't bad" I disagree but eh.

Walnuts would be nice but with its current damage, it honestly doesn't need anything.
