Game import/level reward of GW1 is not working, it just closes the mailbox

After learning about the character import and rewards I went back and I kept working on my level to get the best rewards (level 100+). I also spent some time finding additional characters.  After all that hard work I came back to GW2 to find that neither the reward for level or the character import works. I pressed Y as instructed inside of the mail box to import or to get my level reward and what I see immediately after that is that the mailbox closes as if I pressed b (to go back).

It seems the mailbox crashes and nothing happens. Please help!
