Garden ops local multiplayer

Question

So I just got this game and my girlfriend and I love the split screen mode for xbox one! Our only questions is, can we play split screen on garden ops multiplayer online? I've searched all over the web and I see people that say we can and people that say we can't.. Any clarity here would be very appreciated! If we can play split screen garden ops can someone let me know how to do so? Thank you to anyone who helps answer this!!

xbox one is the only version you can do split screen on.

This is directly from the EA site :&nbsp;http://help.ea.com/en/article/coop-pvz-garden-warfare/"If you have an Xbox One, you have both the online co-op experience of Garden Ops and an exclusive offline co-op mode! Xbox One uses split-screen to allow you and a friend to stand off against waves of zombies and fight for the glory of your garden!"According to this, you can play normal Garden Ops co-op with others online and the offline co-op which I would imagine is where the split screen comes into play. So I do not believe you can co-op splitscreen online, only offline as indicated.

I saw that but for the life of me I can't get garden ops into a split screen version.. I can get 3 other online players to join but I can't seem to get my girlfriend into the game even though EA says it's available
