Garden Warfare 2 PC Cheaters

Is EA going to ignore the elephant in the room and fix the PC cheating problem? Lately I have been seeing more and more and it's getting annoying. If we can get their attention about the server connection issues then we can dang well get their attention about the cheaters. Can we please get an anti-cheat for GW2 already or have them actually look at the cheater reports.

  • I've been checking the Reddit too and the hacker problem is awful right now since we got a flood of new players from the game going up on Steam. It's been a problem since pretty much launch, but it's gotten much, much worse since the Steam release and it's driving people away just as we get a bunch of new folks. Something must be done about this situation. Getting an instant pop on ops last night for a specific one due to a quest last night was nice to see, and seeing Zack Scott getting full lobbies for modes other than TT was fantastic, but these hackers have got to go.

@SirLuigi5528 I'm fighting with cheaters since 2018, without big success, every night i play (mostly EU), and almost every night there must be at least one cheater, sometimes there's even 3 or 4 in one lobby! Some of them know a ''trick'' to either crash the lobby or just crash the entire game. I do reports as usual, but then you'd see the same cheater joining every now and then over 4-5 months so is useless, i did few reports throughout email.. EA did not even respond, and had been one month or so since the report, so i gave up from mailing them, is not worth, and this one particular Zap.... (can't say full name) is crashing the lobbies/game over 4-5 months now and nothing, being reported everyday

Exactly. It's saddening to see this since it really feels like EA just doesn't care right now. BFN has anticheat so why not GW2?

I remember those posts too. It's been a long term problem that mars an otherwise excellent game. I've been reporting cheaters I encounter every time I can, even if not enough is being done. With the game going up on Steam and I'm seeing a nice surge of new players, the fact that this still happens is appalling. We should have never had this issue in the first place, but with so many new folks finding this largely enjoyable game, it really needs to be addressed more aggressively.

With the new Steam release I gave it another try after a long break and played about 20 TT matches over the course of a couple days. There are plenty of things i could talk about but 100% cheating i only confirmed with one player who did the classic damage buff. With that he had statistically 1 vanquish every 10 seconds, 80 damage splash and even 1-shot me.

Others i encountered were "modded" morons who altered their abilities or spawned as boss. Which is now some kind of ongoing meme where the cool kids seem to have to do it to aquire unlimited stardom among their peers.

The live streams on twitch i watched were awful though. Like 3 out of 5 matches had bosses in them. But i generally noticed how bold people are now with their 1 billion coins and 600 rainbow stars while playing Boss Hunt and messing with the developer menu. All coming from cheating af course. Which btw they would never do in a match they say as they crash others games.

Part of this is probably related to the Frostbite leak which enabled modding.

The game is definitely in an abysmal state right now. And looking at the leaderboards i can see that EA still doesn't care enough. Those top ranked players are all cheaters holding these spots basically since the game released. It's hard to trust anything anymore in this game and all the good players i know are long gone.

@Iron_Guard8 Strange. Since the Steam release I haven't encountered any cheating or hacking in TT and I've played many games at different times on different servers. I"ve seen two instances in OPs where players were playing characters from the opposite side but it was almost benign. I must be lucky because I can't believe EA actually addressed the issue after ignoring us and  it for so many years.

  • @lookinin I have just downloaded the game (with steam) and I think that for the most part online is pretty good now there were a couple people using the damage cheat. Which is very frustrating because I save imp's 2 for however long it takes only to get one shot by a mob cob with bad aim and damage cheats. I honestly don't mind the people playing as bosses because they tend to more mess around and less ruin the game. Being a troll is one thing, but when it starts ruining the game it stops being funny.
