Giddy Park: Spawn Camping - Solution

As we all suffer from, the spawn camping in Giddy Park is getting out of hand. While it's possible to breakthrough the siege, keeping that position is make difficult through discouraging crimes (e.g. taunting & saltiness) ultimately prevailing through making the enemy team rage quit & never enter that off-brand Disneyland ever again.

However, unlike Turf Takeover spawns, it lacks invincibility. For example, both factions reside in a spawn w/ similar barriers preventing the opposing team from entering their base. The difference comes in the effects inside for the given team; although it's still possible to vanquish those residing in the zone, it's much more difficult due to them receiving constant health infinitely, creating a sense of confidence that's non-existent in Giddy Park. That's why you'll see zombies just attacking from the front of the entrances of the Z-Tech Factory in Loggy Acres against the plants since they're practically immortal.

This is what Giddy Park needs... & doesn't have as of now. What we need is the same effects that Turf players get when getting spawn camped, health that regenerates fully every second so that they stand a chance if played strategically; besides, wasn't that effect added to prevent it in the first place?

  • @Fork_x_Spoon  Because Public Giddy Parks is not a competitive PvP mode, there is no reason that that the zombie and plant only areas should heal you rapidly while you're in them. That way, players who don't want to be vanquished by spawn campers can just stay in the plant or zombie area and can do what they wish. After all Giddy Park is a casual mode and it's not competitive like Battle Arena or Turf Takeover. Unfortunately, spawn campers in Giddy Park are common so your best bet if you're having trouble with them is to switch to Private Giddy Park. The good thing is that you can warp home at any time! 🙂

I can see the reason to not have it. It's just that (,though not an official game mode) Giddy Park is very different compared to the rest of the game, sporting a fluctuating amount of players per server, a larger 8v8 map w/ varying degrees of height, fixed spawns, stuff to discover, & even minigames that cannot happen if the opposing faction is sieging your entrance.
As for warp, it's actually less beneficial in terms of how people use it; instead of using it as a way to fast-travel back to your side, people use it as a get-out-of-jail free card, which makes combat annoying & slow.
That being said, I understand why in a casual social hub auto-healing isn't a thing; I just think it makes the experience a little less fun. & even in private Giddy Park, it isn't the same without players constantly fighting over at the Trolley Folly for coins.
  • Actually I would like the GW 2 solution for this. If you camp the enemy base too much, the base spawns more AI and also spawns bosses to push back. Bosses can be timed like Yeti or Marigold so they won't be reversing the situation. Another way is invincible turrets like the one at Turning Point.

  • Spawn healing would just shift the problem, not solve it. I think the best way to deal with it would be to do what GW2 does: if you camp the opposition's spawn, increasingly powerful waves of enemies will spawn, until eventually you'll be dealing with 4-5 bosses and a bunch of high tier AI characters. This would still allow players to chase enemies to their spawn, but at the same time would punish them for lingering for long periods of time.
