I happened to notice this detail on the split screen console last night. They never changed this image after introducing Rux.

I think Gnome Depot was a much better name than Rux' Bazaar. Perhaps there was a concern about trademark infringement with something that is a key part of the game versus a little visual detail.
Speaking of backyard references, here is Gnome Chomsky.
Gnome Depot is a solid pun for sure. I had heard that the original name for Plants vs. Zombies was 'Lawn of the dead' which would be an excellent name but they had possible legal repercussions with that name as well.
