My idea is still that the main change needs to be to the way untrickable works. It should negate enemy and friendly tricks. That way you don't get stuck with three 6/7 untrickable zombies with frenzy on the board turn 5... Other than buffing cards that are already strong and untrickable to the plants, I don't have a problem with really any of the mechanics right now.
But I agree, I hate nerfs. I'd rather see cards made stronger or cost less (whack a zombie could easily be a 2 cost card and not be op... Rolling Stone costs 1, weed spray costs 3. Looking at that, whack a zombie is expensive for removal of a single weak card) Even though it's too late now, I'd like to see some of the collosal zombies brought up to legendary, etc. Is like to see cliques revamped to be useful again. To me, they could just revert the Nerf and call it good, but even if they just made it to where you only buffed the ones on the board and currently in hand, I'd be good with that.
Also, plants can also get cards not in their class. Captain cucumber, plucky clover and banana peel are good examples.
Oh one more change if like to see is teleport stay one cost, but you have to be able to play a zombie to use it. If you only have one brain left and no zero cost imps, sorry about your luck! It should fall online with other tricks that if you can't use the main effect, you don't get the card draw.

But zombies are getting them from dr space time, conjure imp garg and zombie, the protection card, cheese man. The cards they get, are ridiculous.
Ive Spring bean, and jumping bean. I don't have rose as a hero, and I've not got sparks, or gems to get jelly bean, or the rest of the necessaries for bean deck. My decks, are mainly made from wall knight, spudow, solar flare.
- 8 years agoKeep in mind that Captain cucumber will not only give only legendaries upon doing damage, but it will also make them cost one less AND that ability stacks depending on how many Cpt Cukes are on the board AND that reduced cost effect counts towards every conjured card, be it from cpt cuke, banana peel (which has a chance to draw two amazing legendaries and a solid event card), plucky, etc. That's a lot of value and a ton of crazy cards.
That said, you're going to really hate this week's event card... Especially it's effect on stompadon and qdc.- 8 years ago
There have always been broken cards since the beginning of the game, as simple as that.
I remember a lot of "old school" cards that made the matches super infuriating, because it left you with little to no counter-play.
Here are some examples of what I'm talking about:
-Flamenco Zombie (up to 8 face damage)
-Zombie Coach (up to 4 invulnerable zombies)
-Walrus Rider (it was hard to counter amphibious zombies back then)
-Mirror Nut (high damage - high defense deck)
-Grapes of Wrath (free 6 face damage)
-Dandy Lion King (up to 10 face damage)
-Re-Peat Moss (One-Turn-Kill combos)
-Potted Powerhouse (same, but with Plant Food)
-Admiral Navy Bean (free face damage)
-Winter Squash (kill any zombie)
The card that I used to hate the most out of all was Grapes of Wrath.
If you left it unattended, it would kill you.
If you killed it, you would take 6 damage.
I mean, you could literally win a game with just 4 Grapes of Wrath and some control cards (removal, healing).
But, if this cards used to be so OP... Why they don't have much play anymore then?
The fact here relies on 2 things: Counter cards and learning how to play around them.
From time to time the devs analyze the cards that have the biggest win-rate and release some "counter-cards" to them. (Bonus Track Buckethead to counter Bonus attacks, Sneezing Zombie to counter Healing, Three-nut to counter Weed Spray, etc).
What I'm trying to say is that, I don't doubt that Going Viral or Untrickable are causing a lot of trouble right now, but sadly these cards are here to stay. That's how the card variety works. The devs want a card that gives Zombies frenzy, so the game will get a card that gives Zombies frenzy. However, this doesn't mean that the game is over. Players will adapt to the broken strategies until A) The card gets nerfed, B) they release a pretty good counter-card or C) they get so good at playing around the card that it is not playable anymore (Anyone remember Bad Moon Rising?)
So fear not my friend, there is still hope. Wing Nuts, Zucchini, Briar Rose, Splash Damage or simply just aggressive decks are good counters for these cards right not.

Why, exactly, should it be nerfed? There's a card that cost 6, gives you a 4/3, and has the same effect, other than shuffling cards into your deck. So you get a 5/4 + the buff, technically giving you more value than going viral. Sure, it's more expensive, but it's nowhere near OP. Usage rate does not equal power. If you are having trouble I would recommend citron bounce, rose freeze, or CC aggro. Those are all fairly cheap, and good decks in the plant meta rn
