Graphics Card

Honestly I'm irritated.  Intel is more advanced than AMD/ATI yet it is not supported?  I wasted $30 on this game only to realize that my graphics card was not supported.  Yes, it was irrational to buy a game without looking for the needed specs to play, but this is irritating.  Any moderators, is there going to be support for Intel HD Graphic's cards or Intel at all for that matter?  I'd really like to get my money's worth.

Intel HD Graphics is not a video card. It's just piggy backing off the CPU to run video.

You need a dedicated video card for an enjoyable experience. It's not a support problem, it's a power problem. You can be irritated all you want, but it's not gonna make the developers force the game magically run on inferior hardware.

Luckily, you still have a refund option.

I enjoy that you attempt to sound like you know what you're talking about, but Intel is a graphics card brand and is a more advanced brand than AMD for that matter.  I've run games ranging from Terraria to Battlefield 3 with this, I don't need a 2nd graphics card.  Running the same engine as Battlefield 3, I don't understand why PvZ can't run.

What Intel IGP do you have?  The game seems to run on 4400, 4600, 5000... not ideal certainly but on low settings and reduced resolution they can be playable, according to reports on here.  It was reported the 4600 was getting 20-30fps on medium and was fairly steady at 30fps on low, not sure what the resolution was but I would guess it was 1366x768.

HD4000... not so much but it does "run"  I have tested it while pushing two monitors with a mobile 3230m.  I got about 10fps at 1366x768.  Oh I also put a single DDR3 4GB 1333 stick instead of the usual 2x4 8gb 1600 get that 10fps number.  Maybe soemday I'll test it with the faster RAM, and not be pushing two external monitors; just use internal display.... maybe monday if it's slow.

I'm not interesting in a peeing match about who knows more about computers, just what you have currently that you want the game to run on.

    BF3 used Frostbite2.... BF4, Hardline and PvZ uses Frostbite3.

It's the weeked.  EA's people are at home.  Intel hired the best graphics people it could find not so long ago, and then ignored them in order to continue its long-standing policy of pertpetuating video medicrity.  They do not product any real 3D GPUs, no matter what your opinion might be; they produce video tinker toys instead.  The game's (PC version) requirements have been very well publicized and EA would be stupid to dumb down what they have released.

So basically the majority of gamers are unable to play because they don't feel like spending more money for a graphics card?

Any idea where to check?  I'm almost certain it's 4000, but not confirmed.  In dxdiag all it says is Intel(R) HD Graphics.  The main issue is not FPS, is the map loading.  I've tinkered with the settings and almost nothing works, the map just doesn't load.  Occasionally if I jump the map loads on low quality for a second but then it immediately goes away.

CPU model # and then check it on like Intel's site or another site to see what HD#### it is.

    HD4000 is most common.

Intel isn't more advanced than AMD/ATI. AMD puts out a much better APU that can play these games fine. Intel simply doesn't and hasn't kept up on it's IGP. Intel wasn't  the first to x64 either AMD was first (they copied AMD here for a bit). Top it off with an integrated memory controller which took a couple years for Intel to catch up. Currently Intels are faster at many things but they're also a larger company. If you buy an Intel based motherboard and an Intel CPU you're going to have to throw in a low end graphics card at the least it's that simple. If you want some light gaming the R7 cards were a good bang for the buck. Typically the AMD cards in the lower end offer better performance and cost than Nvidia. Nvidia cards are great as well.

There's little excuse to have this problem in this day and age with all the review sites and information/forums that are around now. Do your research before commiting to a product purchase. Buying a laptop? Make sure it has mobile graphics. That means you might have to spend a little extra to make the thing last longer and play games.
