Lolz, The DOTA and LoL draft is awful. And yes it comes down to skills and not characters. But you can't deny things like tier lists, frame data, etc. You will never see a player in the top 1% win an Evo tournament with a Hakan (SFIV). Skill is important, but so is character balance. You will never get true balance with a roster of over 50 characters let alone a 100. The only 100% "balanced" game would be a a team sport video game in which both players use the same team and playbook, or I guess a fighter in which each player played the same character or a shooter in which everyone used the same character and load out.
People spend hundreds of hours training in the combo lab and then you RNG them on which character they pick. Sounds awful lolz
