Guide to Working in a Team!

Hey everyone,

In this guide, I am going to explain how to work in a team effectively, most notably in PvP modes, and why it is important to work in a team. I will give some tips on how to do so successfully, however different characters are designed for different purposes, so I will put that into consideration.

Why Work in a Team?

Here are a bunch of reasons of why you should work in a team:

  • You are more likely to win matches.
  • You are more likely to win fights.
  • You could even make friends this way.
  • You can gain more XP for your characters.
  • This game is very team-based, especially in PvP.

How to Work in a Team

Here are some ways that you can work as a team effectively:

  • Revive allies where possible, hopefully other allies will help you get the revive and make it easier.
  • Protect damaged allies by providing additional fire or trying to vanquish enemies that are attacking them.
  • If you can afford to protect an ally by shielding them from an attack, consider doing so, especially if you can survive the attack.
  • When possible, try and distract enemies so that your allies have an easier time taking them out.
  • Consider what character you decide to use in a match, and which characters your allies are using.

For Attack Characters Specifically:

  • Vanquish as many enemies as you can so they cannot damage your team as much.
  • Deal as much damage as you can to your enemies.
  • Try and have your team nearby when you battle enemies for protection.

For Defense Characters Specifically:

  • Shield the team with shields you have, tank with high health, or pick off enemies from a distance, depending on your character.
  • Try and get the enemies to target you rather than your Attack or Support allies if plausible, as they are generally more fragile.
  • If you manage to vanquish an enemy or your health gets low, quickly head back to your team if you are not with them already.

For Support Characters:

  • Heal your allies as much as you can, if you are a healer, and use your support abilities well. As a support, also revive when possible.
  • Use your supportive abilities whenever you can, if it seems to be a relevant time to use them.
  • Try and stay near the backlines to avoid being vanquished, your team should successfully protect you as you support them.

How Teamwork is Important in Each PvP Mode!

Turf Takeover: Having more allies, apart from just you, capturing or defending the objective, will mean that you and your team will more likely capture or defend the objective successfully, depending on what you are aiming to do. If your team is losing the fight, and a lot of your allies are being vanquished, try and head back to your team and wait for them to respawn and get to you before heading off to the objective together, perhaps place some Pots, Bots or Summonables while waiting. Try not to stray away from your team, when possible, unless your allies seem to be fine at the time.

Team Vanquish: Three things are very important to consider and try and achieve in this mode, whenever possible: vanquishing, reviving and healing. Try to do each of those when possible and as often as you can. More importantly, try and stay near your team whenever possible, you are less likely to get vanquished and if you get vanquished, you may get revived. Healers are really useful to be for this mode, as they can be really good at fulfilling all of these, healing, reviving and vanquishing (to an extent), so if your team does not have any or many healers, consider being a healer for the match.

Battle Arena: Try and be a character class that has not been picked in each round, or that there is less of. Having a mixture of different classes can really help the team. Having for instance, 4 support characters is not going to help that much. Try and remain together, or at least close to one another, as often as you possibly can. Try and use your abilities in the best possible way and take cover when you need to, there is a lot of cover in Battle Arena. Make use of character upgrades in this mode as well, as they can help in difficult situations.

Weekly Modes: This depends on the Weekly Mode, but regardless try and stick with your team to reduce your chances of being vanquished, and if you get vanquished, you might get revived. It will also be easier for you and your team to earn vanquishes.

Conclusion

In this game, teamwork is very important, especially in PvP. If your team is not very coordinated, you are going to find it harder to win fights, and ultimately, matches. If you have good teamwork skills, you should find yourself slowly improving at the game as well. Play with friends as well, or go against them, for an even more fun experience. Always try and keep teamwork in mind, obviously you will not always be able to do it (especially because other allies may decide to go off and do their own thing), when you can make use of teamwork though, put your teamwork skills to the test and most importantly, have fun doing so! Consider your character and upgrade choice, because it can benefit and having a mixture of different characters in a match can make for more options and abilities for teamwork. Teamwork is really important in this game, so put it into practice whenever you can!

See you later!

  • @TheSprinter85 I was kinda anticipating for this guide since I suck with teamwork. Hopefully this can help me out in the long run!

Tips from me: in Team Vanquish, you wanna stay in the center of the map. It makes it easier to prepare for attacks from both sides, so once you're done battling, get you and your team back in the middle. Say stuff like "Stay Together!" or "Follow Me!" to get them to be ready.
In Suburbanation, once you capture a point, make sure there's a teammate defending it (or you) to stop enemies from capturing it. This makes it easier to get Suburbanation! Overall, I say at least two people defending your active point while the other six fight over the middle and opponent-controlled point. Say stuff like "Defend Here!" to get some teammates to defend your point.
  • XD I'm not laughing at this but the fact that people would actually work in a team.

    It's good btw

  • @Fork_x_Spoon Those tips are very good, thank you for sharing them. I’m glad you have been provided with a guide that could benefit you, hopefully you benefit from it. 🤞

@Shadowphinx101 I play Overwatch. I can give at least 15 similarities on this game to Overwatch. Let me know if you want me to make a new post going through all of the similarities I can think of (or I may just do it). 👍

@benn1nat0r Thanks for awesome feedback! I’m a sunflower player so I better read it - he he! 🙌

@Multiwarfare Not too many people work in a team, that’s why I wanted to make this guide in the hopes that more players will encourage teamwork and will work with their team more. 😇

@Gormey I forgot to add it, do you want me to edit the post to include it? 🙌

@TheSprinter85 Yes, the cheese tip is necessary. I wonder when Gormey will finally start his operation to conquer the top xp author leaderboard 🙂.
