GW1 Maps ----> GW2 Maps?
Hey everyone. I have gone back and played some GW1 and have realised that one of the things GW2 is missing are the amazing map layouts - sure the new maps we get for GG/HA are nice but they dont neces...
I agree, I loved the old maps and on a past post I made I talked about a new map suggestion that reworked the mega flower map. The way the map would play out is the plants are now attacking and the zombies are defending. Since the teams are flipped since the original it would not make sense for the plants to start in Zomboss mountain. Instead I propose that the first two or three points are taken out from the original layout. In their place is two or three new points that are different. Then when these first points are captured the route goes into the castle. The layout of the castle would be the same as the original however with a few tweaks because of the new characters. Now from the castle onward will be the original points with the castle, the port, and the finale with the mega flower. Now because the territory is owned by the zombies the appearence is slightly altered like aqua center. Now I don't think as altered drastically like aqua center. Now for the finale the plants goal is to revive the mega flower. They want to revive the mega flower because the zombies are about to uproot the recently vanquished mega flower so they could make their own modifications to the lighthouse. Plants would shoot through the cannons and have to attatch plant food to the roots of the mega flower. Similar to the tactical cuke on main street from GW1 their are four roots that plant food must be applied to to be injected into the mega flower. It will also be interesting in defense for the zombies only have some shields and sticky explodey balls. While the plants had mines tallnuts and spikeweed. Now so the zombies just are not open firing on one doorway two roots would be on the second level while the other two on the lower level. One more possible add on is having a giant crane on either side of the lighthouse. The plants could climb these cranes and possibly drop in from above on the zombies through a whole in the ceiling. I think this would be a cool map idea and also think main street should be brought back just like how it was in the first game where plants defend and zombies attack.
The better defined maps of GW1 would most definitely be welcome in the sequel - so long as they weren't graphically tweaked. No big deal if they never show up though because it's not like they can't be played elsewhere or anything.
Random thought: Was it just me or did anyone else spot that the tactical cuke (with the prickly cacti either side of it) kinda looked like something else 🙂
I'm never one to say no to any new additional content, however pop cap them selves have said that GW1 maps won't ever return because of how the new characters work.
Which is a shame.
On the bright side we get to see new maps get developed instead which could become people's new favourites in time.
