GW2 April Events Calendar 2018

We got ourselves an early teaser of what we can expect in April.

For the First week of April, we have possibly another Rando's Revenge Super Mix Mode, and given the hints for this, there will be Super Speed and Low Gravity enabled for this mode.

For the Second week, our Taunt abilities will be put to the test for this month's community challenge.

For the Third week, Sniper Expert classes Cactus and Pirate do battle in the Long Distance Relationship Super Mix Mode.

And to finish off April, for the Fourth and final week, we have a Dinos Vs. Cats event, the first time it has appeared in as many months (I forget the last time we had a Dinos Vs. Cats event).

What do you think of these upcoming events?

A quick note on the taunting event. I'm an old fart (48) so when taunted I just ignore it and move on but I fully understand that some younger players may take it personally. Unless this event is different however taunting AI heroes in matches (not in the backyard or Ops) count for taunting quests and challenges. I get my taunts in for these events against the bots or occasionally with my friend who plays when getting the quests done together. A 48 year old man taunting a 9 year old kid isn't something I would ever condone in the first place and secondly I rarely taunt barring horsing around with friends (some of the taunts are pretty funny) since you are stuck in the animation you get vanquished while doing it more often than not, a kind of just desserts really.

When they start taunting, my little one complains to me as well: "Dad, that player keep killing me and taunting me after that !!!".

Dad: "Which one? let find him together and teach him a lesson."

    The battle begins.

The kids know the dad got her back.

Ref your comment on being stuck in the taunting animation. Very true and with that in mind. I find it deeply gratifying when taking out a taunter who has killed one of my teammates. That said. In a hectic and closely fought game (particularly in the shorter game modes), I find taunting a seldom seen event.

You guys have awesome input over the (anti?) justification towards taunting. Seniority over inexperienced, shark battling, and revenge settling... Kinda happy to see that. 99% of the time, I don't taunt defeated opponents, just gesture towards partners or the rare wandering enemy on the other team that doesn't shoot at me. (Don't tell anyone...)

Do you think they'd consider this issue in the next installment? And if so, what do you think they ought to do different compared to what we have now?

When they (read: EA) dignify taunting as a Community event they seemingly find it an ability of some importance, and I therefore doubt whether they will do away with it. Come to which, there is a large majority, and I'm here thinking of forums such as Reddit who mainly cater for the younger gamer and with a  greater following than ours, who find it a fun and seemingly an essential part of the game.

As to what one could do instead? I am stymied, as I'd prefer to see the thing banished from the game, though I do recognise yr point about a friendly gesture to an opponent, but again, the game is targeted at kids and that should be taken into account when suggesting an alternative.

On the boss hunts, we really need some zombie ones after 2 plant hunts last month. Some people still need the hats and achievements but for myself I want those lovely bot packs! I always buy a bunch of them when available so have a ton of potted plants right now after having them for sale twice last month.
