GW2 not start
Good evening, after installing GW2 starting it I get this error message:
Problem Event Name: APPCRASH Application Name: GW2.Main_Win64_Retail.exe Application Version: 1.0.4.0 Applicatio...
You still have the MSVCR120.dll errors?
You may try uninstalling all the redist packages in Control Panel -> Uninstall.
Then reinstall them.
This is an old 3rd party tool that is no longer being updated/supported... but it still goes up to 2013 (it does the above just easier)

You may try SFC /Scannow

If it's windows 10 you can also try dism

DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth

Windows 10 offers a "reset" option that allows you to revert windows to basically a clean install state but not remove data files (it does break installed programs so those need reinstalled but data is left intact).

That is a sure fire way to fix Visual Studio Redist problems. For older windows just reinstalling (backup first).
I own Windows 7.
SFC / Scannow results:
Windows Resource Protection did not find any integrity violations.
Finally I uninstalled all versions of visual studio redist and I reinstalled the package: http://mcripblog.cesidian.info/2013/11/vc-redist-installer-160.html
However, the error screen remains 😢
another solution? I spent € 35 for this game
Sorry reinstalling windows is the about the last thing I know to do with broken redist packages.
This is the tactic I use at work when I run into these errors. I'm not sure why it happens but I've had limited success getting them back on track once they start throwing VC errors or refusing to install the packages.
Reinstalling can be daunting for regular end users... but I promise you it isn't so bad. Backup your data to an external HD, make a list of your "must have programs" you need to reinstall afterwards and www.ninite.com can be a big help in getting all the little essentials in line. Microsoft makes their ISOs available freely.
