Boss mode was a noob trap in the first game. Sure, it can pay off - but generally, you weaken the team offense/defense by staying in that mode. If we were to bring it back as it was in the last game, it simply wouldn't work.
The detection isn't really needed as your team pretty much spots everything anyways.
The healing is still nice, but isn't as important as we can heal back to full now.
The bombs...well... could still work. But they wouldn't be optimal with the increased map sizes. There's a lot more cover to hide behind and under. Most maps it'd be pointless.
Revivals...well there are a lot more people per game. It also cost a fair amount to use. And you'll most likely revive the wrong person with the inevitable corpse piles.
