Heroes costumes in Garden Warfare 2 issues

I contacted EA help and was told to come here and I would get help. I can't get the costumes from Heroes into my GW2 game. I connected the heroes account to my EA account that has my PSN account attached to it. Everything there is good and my EA account says my PSN account is linked to it. The support guy I was chatting with confirmed this. However he told me that after talking with specialists that my issue is a bug in the game. They didn't say what game, just that it's a bug and if I post here someone will reply and help me. Soo..... Help?

    The unlocking of special PvZ Heroes costumes in GW2 by linking your PvZH account with your EA account has been bugged since the very start; a small handful of people actually got the costumes because I occasionally see the Green Shadow in multiplayer but it seems that the unlocking failed for the vast majority of players and we've been waiting ever since for some sort of fix to be applied.

    Let me get this straight - the EA help desk told you to come and have random people on their forum fix your problem?  Seriously??  Wow.  I'm super sorry.  I mean, every now and then EA person will actually respond here, but it's awfully rare.

    Tons of people have had this same issue, basically the thing's completely broken.  There's no fix that I'm aware of.  I lucked out and the transfer went through for me.  I hope I'm wrong and someone can help you out.

    I just read this on the reddit from a person with the same issue  This is what they were told by EA help:

    "I apologize for the inconvenience, however this promo is currently not live at this time, as the Garden Warfare team is working on this special promotion at this time!"

    So, I guess, be happy it's not something you paid extra for?  I'm reminded of the time the EA servers went down from a DOS attack the day Battlefield 1 went live.  I got a help desk guy on the phone and he pretended to have no idea why I couldn't connect to the EA servers.  Then he said he was going to transfer me to someone else.  After a minute or two, the phone line went dead.  FFS, just admit it when something is broken.
