Hit Box Damage for newbs vs. experienced

A friend of mine keeps claiming that someone with a bad kill/death ratio (kd rate) or a newb has a bigger hitbox than a more experienced gamer with a higher kd.  He says they do more damage.  He tries to quote off what damage he causes with such and such character and what damage the bad kd player did to him.  I think it's a load of bull.  Thoughts, opinions or substantive facts welcomed!

Thanks.

He also seems to think Imp punts, chili bombs have more damage / bigger radius too.

  • Only the welcome mat game mode has the handicap feature where you get more health the more often you die. Anything else I've never heared of. Maybe your buddy is just trying to find ways to hide his mistakes? 🙂

I was aware of the welcome mat help, but, my friend has his theory.  He is one of the better players on GW2, so, it's not what you think.  He is one of most accurate shooters I've ever played with.

  • Just because someone is good or is accurate doesn't mean the person knows everything.

Simply put, the theory is the first time I hear and if this would be true, it would pretty much be known because that would be super obvious.

  • Well there damage upgrade and health upgrade that exist,so it kinda true that technically a player that play a higher ranked variant have a advantage compared to a newbie. But outside of that, the hitbox it the same.

What do you mean by that?

Yeah some classes have up to two damage upgrades which add a 10% dmg bonus as well as all classes have a upgrade at Super elite lvl 4 I think which gives bonus health

He's saying that newbs and players with bad kd's have the bigger hitbox than him. He one of the best pvz gw players I've been around, but, I think his theory is wishful thinking trying to explain how 'bad' players can somehow kill him. He seems to think that people's crits (critical shots) vary that way too. Again, just trying to get input to show him he's wrong.

Your friend doesn't know how this game fully works does he? There is no handicap except in Welcome mat with the health buff. You cannot get your hitbox bigger for being bad at the game, only easier to be shot due to not dodging and getting cover. Damage varies for number of reasons: Character,Variant,Distance of shot, normal or critical damage, abilities, and damage upgrades. I mean if he is comparing something like the pirate's sniper shot to the sunflowers shot then obviously there is a difference in damage because the pirate is a sniper while sunflower is a support. Again your friend doesn't know how this game fully works so im sure he isn't one of the best players out there and needs to learn alot more before he can say anything like that. 😛

He understands all of that, but, he's peddling his theory to try to explain his deaths. He has a high kd, just way out there theories on the game and pretty much everything in life.
