I thought the only way you could get legendary characters was by playing Infinity mode which I totally suck at because I can't get past level 9. I have spent a gazillion coins myself like you but haven't been as lucky as you get any legendary characters. Congratulations for the ones you have gotten so far and good luck with the other ones you are trying to get. I love this game, so I will keep spending coins and hope for the best. If you find out anymore information please post to help the rest of us other little peons 🙂.
Infinity Mode gets you the party time variants of Legendary Characters. Other legendary characters can be found in sticker packs, although i don't know specifically which ones.
