Throwing my change in here. Beams are configured differently than semi/full auto weapons in that they are capable of shooting through terrain depending on the size (why both superbrainz and citron can shoot over an obstacle like a rock or building unlike sunflower though it is possible).
Personally, beam citron's range should be decreased to further emphasize the long range play style that electro and toxic citron really encourages. His damage right now is fine, though I still believe that his EMPeach should do damage only to mechs as it becomes easy pickings for imps. With the ball form, I would be interested in seeing a short defense down debuff kinda similar to the nature of the G.R.U. from TF2 rather than pure crits as it would allow players to actively think about entering and exiting the form more often and prevent capture point only citrons from occurring.

Yesterday I read that tweet and commented on it as well. Not sure how I feel about Citron being made into a flanker. He does have a lot of advantages for sure and something had to give but with his high health and shield he always felt like a tank first and foremost. This sounds like he's going to have some significant changes overall, possibly based more on his ball form as that certainly is a bone of contention. His beam being so good at extreme ranges has also been an issue.

Citron will be HIT and RUN Specialist!
My prediction:
0. Concept: Since he's huge health and shield, he should play in a close battle like the super brain, all-star.
1. Damage: more damage on close distance and less on long distance (less precision as well). To force player to attack closer distance.
2. Hit and run: Increase rolling ball speed, distance and damage to fly Zombies like the bowling balls.
3. Fairness: His stun has less impact on imp or less damage or less duration, but more for ZMech.
4. He cannot claim turf in TT/Subordination when he's in ball form.

I predict they will not adjust the splash damage, which is a major problem with beam citrons.
- 8 years agoHopefully the splash damage is reduced, because it makes it even easier to hit targets with Citron's generous hitscan beam.

Honestly splash damage with a beam weapon is weird. Beams are narrowly focused to maximize the energy delivered to a specific point which is the exact opposite of splash damage.
Reading the tweets some are calling the Torchwood the plant tank but not everyone has him and he has no variants yet. Perhaps he will in GW3. I still think poison oak is an obvious toxic variant!
