How to manually connect a PSN Subaccount to newly created EA/Origin account?

    Found this which does allow me to connect the two accounts via a PC application:

    How do I link my Origin Account to my PSN Online ID or Gamertag?

     

    Once you've confirmed your Origin account email address, you should see if it matches the email address you use for your other accounts. If it matches, all you need to do is sign into your game on PSN or Xbox Live. Origin will match up your email addresses and take care of the rest.

    Note for Next Gen Consoles: Your gamertag or PSN Online ID carries over from Xbox 360/PS3 to Xbox One/PS4. If you have played any EA game on the last generation of consoles, please make sure you find and use that same account when you play on next gen.

    If your Origin Account email address doesn't match your PSN or Xbox email, you can connect them using the steps below:

    1. Open the Origin client and click the Friends button, then Add a Friend. If you do not have the Origin client installed, you can Download for both PC and Mac.
    2. In the Import Friends menu, you can choose to "connect" your Xbox LIVE, PSN, and EA accounts. Simply sign in with your account details to connect.

    If you have issues connecting your account, you will need to properly link them by contacting an EA Advisor.

      didn't work for me either.  I'm considering dropping the PS Plus for good if this gets too complicated.  They've got to make this more user friendly.  I have crying kids here!

        Completely agree...have spent 3 hours trying to get Need for Speed to work on my kid's subaccount and no luck!

    It appears they have since "updated" the app and removed this function.  Do you know of another way to manually force the two accounts to connect? Playing EA games on the PS4 does not connect them for me.

      Same here.  I created an Origin account for my son specifically so that his sub account could connect to it using the same e-mail.  but when I try to connect, it says it's not working at this time.

      The sub account and origin accounts have the same email and the sub account age is over 13...so not sure why this isn't working!

      Thats tru ei still cant find the add friends on xbox and psn option anywhere

    Did they change the client?  I used this successfully in July for one child.. now that I am trying for another, add friends doesn't show the PSN / XBOX option to import anymore... did this get removed?

      Wow this is horrible. I spent the last 2 hours trying to get  this to work. EA should be ashamed. There is no clear way to link my sons account (which is a sub account of mine on PSN).

      They make things way to confusing with all of these double accounts.

      EA Help points you to a page which is useless as all it tells you that it will be done automatically if the emails are the same.

      EA how do you link a PSN sub account to a new ea account? My son would like to play BF1 and Plants Vs Zombies multiplayer.

        Agreed, I've explained to 3 different support people now what the problem is. Once got sent to Sony since I forgot to try to connect to online with a Non-EA game. Rocket League worked just fine for my son's account so it something to do with the archaic connection EA uses to allow people to play online and track everything!

        I told them I can still see my kids Xbox Live accounts connected to the EA account.

        Why do they like to block a major part of the functionality of their games with this *?

    I'm on the origin client on my pc, and I've gone into the find friends but there's no 'connect' button, what do I do? I'm trying to connect my ea account to my PS4 account.

    Origin client does not have this option anymore when you "add friends"

        I just spoke with EA tech support with a guy who could barely construct an English sentence in a remote country. So we basically concluded that EA Origin would not link to the PSN due to it being a sub account. My son needs a Master account. I spent 5 hours researching this yesterday. Which is weird because he has trophies for Battlefront II and was able to play some EA games before. They must have recently updated their terms of service or something in the last year or two. 

        So after spending hours with Tech support, they said my son would need a Master Account which is 18+ on PSN. Why does EA require a Master Account to play rated E games online? It is absurd. I can control from PSN his voice chat and message abilities. I too am joining the boycott EA movement. So much effort spent to try and play a game with my son.
