How to Play Gnome Bomb: Overtime Edition

Because Gnome Bomb has a common universal strategy, there's no need for me to talk about that. Once it reaches overtime, that's when the real fun begins.

There's one strategy and one only in overtime: spawn camp.

Once the clock reaches 0 and both factions have equal gardens and graveyards, don't go for a suicidal push. This game is fast-paced, but vanquishes can push back your time and make the match drag on. Also, you're not meant to be the last man standing like a BR. If you die, suck it up because the only thing that matters is getting Dr. Doofenshmirtz to a garden/graveyard. Anyways, there are three roles when delivering the surprise tool that'll help you later: gnome bomber, gnome guards, and spawn campers.

If you're holding the gnome, you better know the turf you're on because not knowing your way throughout the map will kill you. Play a character with lots of health like Citron or All-Star. Note that only your primary and movement functions while holding it, so no secondaries, specials and abilities. Just run to the place to plant the thing and pray to every known God that your team are more than just potatoes.

If you're a gnome guard, you're protecting the gnome (not the player) with your life. There's many ways to play it, but I recommend getting ahead of the gnome bomber to scout out and vanquish incoming enemies. You can also stay near them, but that's just waiting for you and the bomber to be vanquished. I suggest healers since they can heal and protect the gnome bomber, and characters with mobile shields so to block damage thrown. And if the gnome bomber dies on you, pick it up and deliver the package yourself. It's best to get the thing closer to the objective than having it die with you.

If you're a spawn camper, you don't have to be pressed into their spawn location, but keep them a distance from the gnome bomber. Spread out across the enemy spawning side so there's no way out other than to fight. Evasive and tank characters are best at distracting and preventing enemies from attacking the bomber. If YOU'RE getting spawn camped, get your team to concentrate your attacks on one person so to breakthrough the siege. If a side is unprotected or is guarded by an easy enemy, go through it. These little sieges don't last for long, but will give your team more than enough time to bring the bomb to its final destination.

In conclusion, this is a fast way to end Gnome Bomb overtimes and to get it over with. Even though spawn camping is bad, if you badly want that useless victory, I recommend this strategy. Have the team divided into two divisions of spawn camping and delivery Other than that, I am going to play 3D All-Stars. If you want more guides for more modes, just reply. Post over.

  • This guide is very detailed @Fork_x_Spoon. Very good! 🙂

I tend to switch to a fast character or a tanky character. I believe that Pea Suped works if you collect the Gnome Bomb after you activate that ability. There are upgrades that can extend its duration if you manage to pull off the conditions.

My main pick is Engineer. I place down my Double Time, then pick up the Bomb and gain a burst of speed by standing on the Pad. This allows me to get towards the objective quicker. Even if I get vanquished, I got it further at least. If you use the Turbo Charge upgrade for Double Time, you can get it even further again.

You stated that you were going to make a Giddy Park spawn camping guide (I think). I love reading your guides, any more you make would be much appreciated, but do not pressure yourself to make them. 🙂

  • I agree, Engineer is very good for defending the gnome bomber and spawn camping. And Pea Souped does indeed continue after picking up the gnome bomb as well as Space Force.
Oh don't worry, I'm not pressured to do these guides. Since there's not much left to look forward here, may as well leave my mark on the community.

The player who intends to pick up the Gnome Bomb should have as much speed as they can for best results. For instance, the Peashooter and Engineer example. There really isn’t as much to look forward to now since the announcement, is there? 🤒🙂
