Cant save progress in pvz 1 on android can you help me save my progress?

Plants vs. Zombies 1 on a Samsung Android tablet. My local save suddenly reset completely after I enabled internet, played Adventure 1-4, closed the game mid-level, and reopened it. Adventure is now back at 1-1, coins and Zen Garden are gone, and restarting the tablet did not restore the save. I did not uninstall or clear the game's data.
• What do I do?
• Is my data permanently lost?
