In whatever game mode I'm in after I choose a character it goes to load the game but the screen turns black except for the little sunflower in the corner. Occasionally I can get to actual play but it doesn't take long before the screen goes black again. Please help, this is causing a strain in relations with my son. Everything worked fine before the update.
Spaced. Try deleting and reinstalling? Im really not sure on that one. Yours is the first I have heard of the disk error
Alien thanks for the video, confirms what I am seeing here. 🙂 Im not sure it has to do with provider as we are in Canada and I can reproduce it.
Bhaastd are you on Xbox One or 360? Were you scrolling over the Berry Peashooter? Try another character and see if you are ok. Also try rebooting or clearing cache
uninstalled only getting upto 28% install then stopping with same message.

I get this issue as well. I'm currently only playing Garden Ops and have run into this issue a few times while joining other players. You'll get into the game, select a character, and then when you'd normally jump into the game... the loading screen will come up ( all black with the sunflower in the lower right corner ). I can hear game audio and I heard the wave end. One time I got kicked back to the lobby. Another time I got kicked back to character selection. It happened once on the new map, Crash Course... another time it happened on Garden Center.
Since people are still downloading this, I wouldn't be surprised if many hosts aren't rebooting their system before starting to play and may be the root cause of some of this.

Try waiting for the character model to load on the select screen before trying to spawn as the character.
