Do not forget about those Scientist variants who loves to warp to everyone and mash the heck out of the attack button. Oh yes, and Super Heroes who tend to snipe people with their laser (come on, they are supposed to be good mainly up close) and spinning to win.
Well, the plants also have their fair share of Corn though I can not blame them considering he may have been buffed slightly too much.
Engineers needs more attention... Well except for those overused ones who are seemingly invincible at the right hands. 😢
Have I told you the story of sniping Imps? Yeah, what a scary thing to encounter.

@VoltScience Fire Mechanic has always been my zombie of choice, but that Roady one is starting to get on my nerves as much as Brainz's spinning. To me, only the Zombies have attacks which render you completely helpless. If you are barred from fighting back at all, it's unfair. And I know that is why people are now favoring that Roady, his pulse not only pushes you away, it acts as a stun, so you're unable to use any of your abilities, the same with that spinning brainz, other than if you get lucky as a chomper.
But who on the plants side can do that to a zombie? Goop? Nope you can still shoot, and if you're Brainz you can still move. the chomp? that acts as a one hit kill like the rpg so it's not really the same thing. About the only thing that even comes close is the weed snare, but that only lasts for a sec. can't affect more than one plant at a time, and can't be used even half as often as the roady's pulse gun.

Imps don't have low health they have medium health. Pirates have very overpowered abilities and strong close range weapons. if Superbrainz get close to you there is no chance of survival unless you have high health or escape with a ability

@tristkiss I have to agree with you. You Engineer Sonic Grenades which is usually a vanquish sentence, Imp's gravity grenade which is usually a vanquish sentence, Super Brainz twister (though unintended probably) stopping you from doing much, Zombie stink cloud which can hinder your aiming long enough to vanquish you and then there is the Scientist which when close to you, you are helpless as you are already vanquished.
All the plants got is a puny Citron Shield which a good player can destroy quickly, Rose's abilities in which the enemy can still escape and attack as a goat as well as a time snare which will not stop them shooting, Chomper Goop which also does not stop them shooting. Well, Cacti can put walls up though enemies can simply find a way around it. Maybe it is justified with all the explosives at the plant's disposal (blame Crazy Dave) as well as several defensive traps such as the Chili Bean Bomb, Potato Mine, Spikeweeds, Well, it is not much though they are usually set and ready as a defensive mechanism while the zombies are normally quick effects.
This is the problem as in GW1, the plants are supposed to defend while zombies attack which caused GW2 to still have the same defensive set while having to go offensive as well. This is why the zombies just make the plants seem completely helpless, plants needs more offensive abilities/stats while the zombies are completely offensive. All the plants got for offensive is Kernel Corn, Peashooter and maybe a Citron while the zombies have the entire 7 class zombie cast with a bonus Imp who could be considered a two-in-one!

Yup, I believe this is the heart of the problem with GW2. Plants really aren't well suited to offense. And then the game devs basically compounded the problem by giving the plants the poorly designed offensive maps. Maybe it's some form of payback? I know there were a LOT of people who felt playing as Zombies in GW1 was unfair, so the devs, just went too far trying to make amends.
- 10 years agoI'm probably one of those roadies. I get more kills defending my teleporters as a roadie than attacking the garden as an electrician.
I feel like PVZGW2 has added so many ways to cripple your opponents compared to GW1.
Ice variants
Goop
Spike weed
Stun mines/horn
Goatify
Time snare
EMPeach
Gravity grenade
New "stun variants" e.g Roadie Engineer
Super brains twister
(I think that's it)
