In PvZ 3, give Foot Solly Bungie Jump.

Think about it for a moment Popcap. Foot Soldier uses his Rocket Jump ability for mobility and dodge. You give a Foot Soldier the ability to swap that out for a reference to the Bungie Jumpers from the original tower defense game, stick a minute or so cooldown on it, and allow the player to jump straight to the point. Plants will see 'em pop straight down, the Foot Soldier (Unless competent) will end up getting mowed down due to a lack of escape jump, and you've got yourself a model project of a "Parachuter style" Infantry class that... with just a small bit of fine tuning... can result in a great alternative to an "On the roof" jump skill.

You provide the Foot Soldier with an optional "On the ground" package which will boast pure mobility. Make the Foot Soldier call on a phone like the Imp does for his Z-Mech - Something teleports Foot Soldier straight up, then you have a PvZ Garden Warfare 1 style "Boss Mode" interface where you pick pre-designated spots you can Bungie Jump to.

This will allow players who conserve their jump to assault a spot, and back out safely if needed (With the same perils of an Imp calling it in. Standing still. Two or so second Vulnerability)

I would suggest not allowing players to Bungie Jump to the same spot they are calling from. I.E. saving their jump, running to a spot, ravaging said area, getting outnumbered, escaping, then jumping immediately right to the same spot. This would be an absolute crime as the offending player will be able to clearly recall WHERE and WHAT he was up against and change tactic accordingly.

Defenders should be given a chance to move around and change spots after a Bungie Jump. Just like how you're given a chance to place a Pumpkin on a plant to stop those rooftop jamblerts from swiping one of your plants ~.^

  • Sorry, not following what you're trying to say. Can you share screenshots about spot or bungie jump you're talking about ?

  • I refuse to share any form of evidence or example regarding the Rooftop Bungie Jumping zombies that swipe plants from the first game. You may be just as in the dark about them as I was not one week ago. ;o
