Bfn flopped hard and gw1/gw2 overall had/have more players and were more successful so I doubt even if we get a new game we wont be seeing much of bfn anymore if popcap been paying attention to the sales. (I plan to soon make a post about the concept art of bfn which was drastically different from the final product and ask what people think about it).
Pvz 3 only got delayed due to the MASSIVE backlash from playtesters and fans if they knew of its existence as many don't (thank goodness it was so bad). Remember how successful pvz 1 was that even the mobile sequel of pvz 2 got its place in gaming magazines annoucing the coming sequel of pvz1? Good times.
Sadly popcap then went radio silent on us entirely abiut its rework (is it too much to ask for communication and another classic game on consoles these days that feels like a genuine sequel of pvz 1 and 2s best parts and not stock mobile game bs, consoles would also work better at portraying the 3d artstyle they want to go for).
The supposed mmo game just dissapeared off the face of the earth as it also got a lot of backlash and I cant find any news about it.
The radio silence, bad decisions as of late, fans bailing on the series, voicing their disapproval about its current path, popcap vancouver renamed Motive Vancouver and the devs have been assigned new projects lr left the series.
You know its fitting how the last pvz game before bfn was literally named heroes because it truly feels like the series has lately gone from heroes to zeros in the span of 1 game and anothers beta.
- 5 years ago@stukapooka Yeah, I don't see why PopCap possibly isn't going to make a GW3, since with the right marketing it'd be a * money machine again.
Yeah, PvZ 3 didn't feel like a Plants vs. Zombies game at all, it felt more like a * mobile game. Even though I didn't like the Freemium concept of PvZ 2, it at least felt like a good game.
Exactly, that's why I'm concerned about Garden Warfare/the franchise in general, we've heard nothing from PopCap and I'm afraid that if they come back, they'll announce a * mobile game again that literally nobody on this planet wants.
MMO? What do you mean? The game that they held a survey about?
Lmao, yeah.- stukapooka5 years agoLegend
@VinniebreadPvz 2 imo started off pretty good but a lot of the future updates that made it more mobile gamey dragged it down a lot, I wonder what George fan's original version of the game was like before he voiced his disapproval and was layed off/fired or whatever with his music composer doing Egypt's soundtrack then leaving soon after to follow him.
The mmo game had a few screen shots spill out to the public and oh boy the backlash was heavy. Maybe its just the stigma of ok popcap we get you like spinoffs but can we have a main game again? Or it was oh great another mobile game that will force me to grind or pay the fee to beat it thanks EA.
Pvz3 legit looks like a bootleg 3ds game and after playing it I think I can roughly say I actually enjoyed the pvz games for China like pvz the great wall more and they even looked and played better. I think danerades video perfectly explains whats wrong with pvz3 in graphics, gameplay, and variety.- 5 years ago@stukapooka Yeah agreed, I didn't like the newer things added to it at all. And yeah, same.
Ah, I didn't see it then.
Yeah agreed, haha. It was way too basic and different in my opinion. I've never played the China PvZ games, but I saw footage from it and they looked pretty good. And yeah, Danerade's video was really good. A bit off topic, but pretty crazy to think that he made that video with a * mobile video editor.
