Alright Chomper needs some work, since he's the only melee class the Plants have and I feel they need a stronger close range offense character. A Chomper should be feared, atm he's just one huge crit...

I am a real fan of the timer based off size option you presented here. I love playing Chomper and I think that would fix some of his "downtime" issues.
The Chomper's fine - especially on defense. Just use cover, don't overextend, and take flanking routes.
There is nothing scarier for a Zombie player than trying to sneak past a bunch of Chompers.
