Community AdminI just watched it and my own feelings are mixed.
They did mention the forums briefly very early in the video but they didn't really address anything we've been bringing up. There's reasons why I prefer to post here instead of on Reddit and I don't understand why anyone would pay attention to a site that isn't official and not regulated like the forums are. I was very active on the City of Heroes forums for years before it got shut down, and the devs were pretty active there. With few exceptions the community here is far more civil and not as full of obnoxious memes and is a much better place than Reddit overall. Reddit has some good posts, like that bug list, but those are the exceptions to the rule. Considering how many constructive, well-thought out, and well-discussed posts we have here, I just do not understand this at all. I'm only on Reddit and the foul den of twitter due to GW2 and now BfN in the first place, if the team were more active here, I wouldn't have to bother.
New map looks great and I'm glad it's not as brown as the others, definitely interested in that.
The wizard sounds fun but I really wish you would release characters in pairs (one zombie and one plant) so it helps balance out the 'cult of the new' effect new characters add. The ability to become a buff for other zombies really sounds really interesting though. Unlocking him via the prize map or later via coins is good news. I really want something to spend the coins on, although I'll likely finish the map anyway.
No discussion of 12v12 at all? 8v8 TT is just not great with the huge maps and distances to the battle/objective. It really needs to be adjusted. I did try 8v8 since I didn't want to assume it was bad, but it is not working well. Get that lag issue fixed for people and get it back to 12v12!
The legendary upgrade I'm on the fence about right now. If it's straight-up better than the default with decent upgrades (as the legendary upgrade eats the slots), it's not a great idea as it would obviously behoove everyone to use it. Earning it via the prize map is cool as even with me playing at a slow/moderate rate I'm getting the map done early (I have 31 bulbs banked for next month currently). Buying it with rainbow stars after the map is done, I'm unsure about, I feel it should be coins instead.
I really want to see the lag/control issues spoken about more. Until this stuff is all fixed, everything else is secondary.
I know I'm missing some issues we talk about here, overall the stream wasn't awful but it wasn't what a lot of us were looking for.
Please submit all future concerns in the form of fan art (with the appropriate hashtags) for further consideration.
Yep, I feel a little dazed this morning and not sure exactly what to think or to say for that matter about everything from last night....
and while there is new stuff... exciting-ish.... it has just raised many more questions and worries...
and at the same time the live stream did nothing to address any of the really important and long term issues people are concerned with,
and to not mention or acknowledge the "supposedly" official forum in any way feels like a slap in the face for many.
I think today, at this moment, this is my main feeling... disappointment for my forum family here... and sad that the effort and love put into this forum seems to have gone by the wayside ☹️

It’s one thing to post here and forum members bicker or trolls come in... from time-to-time, I notice members who stop liking my posts and only like others.... many times people join the community OBLIVIOUS to etiquette/allergic to search functions and just this week, it’s a massive trend to create duplicate threads. I can’t mention the number of times I’ve answered posts that haven’t been accepted as answers only to have someone repeat me (later) to be accepted.
All of this stuff is expected; being flat-out ignored by the people we’re giving our money to is not.
On the issue of stockpiling coins. Maybe restocking the reward o Tron would be too much time investment, but popcap have a golden opportunity to solve the problem by making legendary upgrades available for coins, not rainbow stars. Then produce them at a decent rate, aim for two or three per character over time. Hell almost being like having variants back to some degree. This would clearly have been listening to the community and they had a chance to make it happen, alleviate two massive pain points, with small adjustments to current plans.
They still do, but I do worry about this little "legendary upgrades in rux" toe being dipped into the water. I'm concerned as are many people here.
PVZ BFN is a toddler. There are two groups of people standing in front of it. One group has shiny toys, candy, and pennies they can stick in an electrical socket.
The other group has books, healthy foods, structure and discipline.
Which group do you think the toddler is going to walk to?
There are still lots of issues that have not been addressed! ☹️
However, the livestream showed lots of upcoming and new content which will be added into the game, so hopefully it's something we can all look forward to and enjoy once it has been released? 🙂👍

Yes it is good to call out the positive stuff too and I am looking foward to the new map and character.
Just hope popcap/EA don't make bad decisions that destroy people's investment in the game before they even get to try the new content. I am wavering now and will give the game a break for a few days.
