Local multiplayer still lost

I don’t get why the local multiplayer has been pushed aside, I heard the announcement of Diablo 4 and they are bringing back there couch co op and more. I do not understand why popcap does not understand the big need for local multiplayer and how good it was for gw2.

There actually is couch coop. You can play all the offline stuff, but if you want to play online in couch coop, the other player needs to have a PSN plus account (or the xbox equivalent).
