Message to the Developers

the game has introduced flower decks (due to the introduction of Briar Rose in the legendary status).

and the community overall has found the introduction of Briar Rose at the cost of 4 extremely unfair, because of how early it is to pull out.

and the introduction of clique peas is rather questionable since its ability is very easy to abuse, but even with that aside, briar rose's extremely powerful presence is in no way justified by its legendary rarity, it is very hard to remove at 4 health on turn 3 or 4 (with the use of solar winds or solar flare's superpower). and considering how many cheap flowers exist, including the forget-me-nuts, briar rose is simply unbalanced.

if the stats were adjusted to 4/3, it would justify since it'd be weak to brainy removal, and crazy removal, or increasing its cost to 5. with such effect to the board at the cost of 4, it's just so hard to keep up after this card takes effect.

and also healing could use some adjusting. healing is a mechanic in a lot of collectible card games that allows you to recover. the reason why healing is a balanced mechanic in most collectible card games is because you aren't focusing on other things but healing a unit, or yourself.

heartichoke simply makes you benefit way way too much off the mechanic of healing. it makes taco (which you've made super-rare) read "heal for 4, to 4 damage to the zombie hero, draw a card". for 3 sun. and the rarity changes don't justify anything, people still have these cards, all you did was make new players have an even harder time getting into the game with every card that should exist in the game under the super-rare lock because "they're good"

heartichoke needs some adjusting, that "doesnt loop on flytrapland when health is 0" hardly justifies it. because listen, if you're constantly healing yourself, and doing so much damage to the zombie hero, where is the fun in fighting that??

this is supposed to be a fun and competitive game, people shouldn't be relying on such an overused, unbalanced, and way too easy to exploit from strategy. this makes teleporting in valkrie look like a skilled play.

overall, you just simply benefit too much from heartichoke's effect. and last thing i want to mention is how unwelcoming the game is to new players. from removing hero coins, to making rocket science (a once basic - common card) to premium - super rare. look, you can't balance a game by making locking cards that have even the slightest useful-ness behind rarities, that just makes new players have a hard time, and make people who have had them since the very start feel lucky.

and you know the worst part in all this? the only people you're effecting the new players, everyone else is unaffected. look, i know making games isn't easy, you have to pay people and all, but do you really think the best way to get more players into the game is by having such an approach that leans towards using money to get cards you should have?? like for christ's sake, landscaper is a good card, but this update has made a mockery of what was the super-rare rarity. the super-rare rarity was once a rarity that had all the cards that were good tools in most decks, and had very fun cards.

now it's just a rarity where you put anything you find useful in, making it harder for the newer players. i mean, you could've given us a warning about the rarity change like you did with the first one, but some of the most useful budget cards in the game are in the super-rare rarity, and some people may have never known this would've happen.

popcap, from a gamer's standpoint, i understand balancing a collectible card game is such a hard job, but could you at the very least just re-look how you've planned out this game. people in the community have even thought and suggested that this game is going to be in the same state as plants vs zombies 2 after the next few updates.

a response to this message, would really reassure us that you know that we exist. if we could hear the developers' thoughts about the game's balance, that'd be an amazing step towards a closer relationship to the community.

    I got it all Pat.

Not rambling at all to us players 🙂

I think the devs should DEFINITELY look into that!!!

Because the cards both clearly say "HURT", which I THOUGHT meant DAMAGE.

Destroy isn't doing damage, therefore that effect shouldn't take place, and also nuke the shark.

That's the way that I read into it, having read the cards as they are worded.

Off-Topic! How about those "new pirates"? AYE!!!???

I'm DIGGIN' the new Dreadbeard Buff!!!!

I like it alot. I actually got two barrel of deadbeards yesterday. One from my 8 legendary out of ultimate league pack(4200 gems& 8 legendary for 39.99 canadien) and I crafted another just cuz one does nothing for a deck...even two is a once in a blue moon but is what it is

. I'll get some s**t off my chest... When galactic garden expansion came out i had just finished buying and spending around 50-60 on gems and I had basically every set but legendary and even those i had a shwack. The expansion timing chapped me because of course ea gave us pretty sweet deals on premium packs and if you recall we could finally get leprechauns if you missed them and they had bananasaurus and zombot shark for gems...anyways I, like probably many paying players went all out and then two days later we have an update and surprise me(I wasn't even aware of forums at least here(I actually thought Facebook forum was the "official" and ranted more than once that it seemed like there was three people including myself on there lol...
Anyways so I kinda snapped and because I had nothing to get any new packs and the first day when having no environment and getting spikeweeded to death I recycled probably 60% of my cards :/ no lie I was really ready to quit and actually one of the couple people on Facebook forum replied to my sendoff rant and I dabbled for a week or so and then suddenly something "cliqued" in my melonhead and I love the game and the gameplay(the clique was a joke cuz I hate those peas) and I am back in full swing more or less...but the only thing I still do is i have a hard time keeping any plants other than a base amount unless something amazing dropping in a pack...like yesterday I got my first Starfruit which I kept but recycled the 2 astrocados in trade for another barrel of deadbeards. Again apologize if my ramblings are hard to follow... Im 42 and my adhdlmnop gets me off track sometimes.
I don't know why I needed to do that but I have gotten flack from new players/collection junkie who say its a sin to recycle a legendary and blah blah etc...
If I have no interest in playing a certain card(s) or deck(s) then why would I want to keep cards that I can trade in for a legendary of my choosing albeit a ridiculous amount of sparks and trading at 25% of value is highway robbery but I have most of the cards I like and want in my decks, so why not? I can see why people don't agree with that attitude but w/e.
Okay so enough babbling. Here's to the zombie apocalypse!!

Recycling cards is up to the user.  I get where the other players are coming from, because you might have a change of heart and switch to decks that could need those recycled cards.  On the other hand, you are trying to improve existing decks and need Sparks to do so.  Either tactic is fine, you the user are trying to enhance your fun.

Yes thank you, you are correct. I don't deny that I can be a little extreme in my reactions from time to time and perhaps if I had not been so gutting I maybe would have a few plant decks that I enjoyed playing. But as it stands for the time being, megagrow is my strongest plant trait followed by smarty and a sprinkling of guardian and kabloom. Solar is so bare that the only "super rare" I have is 2nd greatest taco...which is a rare. Was a rare...gotta stop living in the past.

I wish there was a way to implement trading that could be somehow protected from cheating and/or hacking but I don't think that will ever happen.
Even if it worked in a way that passive aggressively made the trades balance out...like if I had a legendary say pecanolith, and wanted to trade for another legendary thats fine. But if you don't have a legendary you want to part with then you can bundle up super rares and rares etc to get within, say, 500 sparks or something like that. Like I said I wish it was possible but can't see it happening

    Hey Pat!

I feel for ya brother! That was really SUCKY!

I think they should give us 2 weeks notice before a new expansion is going to drop. I can see how it is to their financial advantage to not do so...

But it's a quality of life issue. Happy Players=more $$$ spent! Just look at Steam! EVERYONE knows that there will be Summer, Autumn, Winter, and Holiday Sales. And those sales are FANTASTIC! I HOARDED $500.00 for this summer, and I made out like a BANDIT!

NOT Bragging! My point is, if we know when the sales are coming, and aren't time constrained (within reason--- I think giving 7 days on all special offers is the way to go)...Players will drop more cash.

SURE! We all have nitpicks here and there about certain cards, and/or combos... That is the nature of this type of game... But we who are FANS, all share one thing... LOVE for the game!

It's in the Developer's best, and long-term interest to, within reason; keep us happy. In turn, we LOVE supporting them, and dropping some hard earned money.

As for you recycling your cards, THAT HURTS brother. I will only recycle what I have more than 4 of... but that's just me, I like having 4 of everything, even "bad" cards... you NEVER know when a "bad" card is going to be part of an insane combo with future event cards, or sets...

For me when Galactic came out I was sitting fairly well. I also bought a ton of packs (cash and gems), but what hurt for me was having to craft 4 Binary Stars.... THAT....HURT!

But boy was it worth it. Plumbers for 4 for 1 brain, wraths for 6, or Heaven help them 12 if my board is full...same thing for Quasar Wizard! That little guy PUTS IN THE WORK! 🙂

I like both factions, as I've said. But being a mostly Zombie player I get those instant Queues.

Add me Pat! We can chat and play! 🙂

    Who gets zombies tho? LoL!

P.S. To the Devs: MORE MORE MORE HALLOWEEN STUFF!

I will do that for sure.
As for your holding on to sets there is nothing wrong with that and obviously they try ushering people in that direction but another gripe I have/had (and am only mentioning so others can avoid what happened to me) is the suddenly changed rarity of certain cards. I cant even begin to guess how many of those cards we all had over abundance of and then log back one day to see that cards like weed spray, aerobics instructor, cat lady, black eyed pea that suddenly had a sexy purple border...wtf? Or worse yet, how many sumo wrestlers did we recycle as an uncommon? Right?
My personal opinion is irrelevant but I think that anyone who still buys packs may want to consider not recycling unless you have to craft cards cuz take it from me my friends, I don't have any mixed up gravediggers anymore and I don't see myself paying legendary prices for the bastiches...so unless I pull a couple in packs or something like that I am giving the whole community a heads up... I don't play graveyard decks. A few guys but not a full meal deal anymore.
So many people can hopefully take something from this and recycle at your own discretion. I have already started and unless I get a little bit faster heartbeat from a pull im gonna get a card I want instead. So be it that costs more...BUT getting exactly what you want, well there's something to be said for that, in my opinion

We should have been refunded sparks for any and all that we recycled when they changed the rarity. You are right.
