Monitor goes black on game start up - frequency out of range

Hi, we recently just purchase PVZ GW2 via digital download from Amazon.  When we start up the game, the monitor goes black and the error shown on the screen is 'frequency out of range'.  When I hit a...

same thing happened to me pls find fix i cant play for this reason

    I believe this is usually the result of the game trying to run in an unsupported resolution that the monitor cannot handle.

    Here are two different ways to tackle this:

    Go to your Documents folder and locate PvZ:GW2's folder.  Rename it (or delete it).  Launching the game should recreate these files and it will launch with default values.

    ----

    Manually change the resolution.

    Locate \settings\PROF_SAVE_profile

    Edit with Notepad

    You should see lines like this:

    GstRender.FullscreenWidth xxxx

    GstRender.FullscreenHeight xxxx

    Change them to match your desktop's native resolution (i.e. 1920x1080 etc)
