Multiplayer Portal Doesn’t Work

I have been playing PvZ garden warfare two for a while, and the multiplayer portal has worked before. However, now when I enter the portal in the town hall it never loads me in. Either that or I have to wait for half an hour. I have xbox live gold as I am playing on the Xbox one, and have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the game but it still doesn’t work. Can anyone please help me?

Ok. The problem definitely has something to do with connectivity. The portal is open and available to go into, but it just doesn’t load me into the online games. I’ll have a look over the article

  • Hi, @zavierjames1!

Can you let me know if these steps help get this fixed for you? What NAT type do you have? (Found under Xbox One Network Settings)

    Power Cycle the Console

    1. Turn off the Xbox One console by pressing the Xbox button on the front of the console for about 10 seconds until it shuts down completely.
    2. Unplug the console's power cable. Wait 10 seconds.

Important Be sure to wait 10 seconds. This step resets the power supply.

    1. Plug the console power cable back in.
    2. Press the Xbox button on your console to turn on the Xbox One.

    Clear Mac Address

    1. Clear the MAC Address: From the Xbox dashboard select Settings>All Settings>Network>Network Settings>Advanced Settings>Alternate MAC address>Clear, then restart your Xbox.

    Reboot the Network

    1. Unplug the modem/router power for about 5 minutes to refresh the network. A fresh connection can help clear up most basic connectivity issues.

I tried the Cleary MAC address first, and it worked on one day. However, when I went back on the game the next day, the same problems worked. I tried to power cycle the Xbox but it still wouldn’t load me in. It also says my NAT type is “open” any idea if that has anything to do with it?

    @zavierjames1

The Mystery Portal should be available per the events calendar. Do you see a clock above it in game? If so you'll have to wait until it opens up again.

OPEN NAT is good, but it might be a simple power cycle of the network that will help repair the link to our servers. We have some quick steps in this article below that fixes a lot of connectivity issues.

This issue was resolved - it was a server issue.  This thread can be closed.

Hi there - just want to confirm, do you need Xbox Live Gold access to enter the multi-player portal?  We see the portal in the game, but when trying to enter it, we see an error that you need to support multi-player.  My boys under 13 are trying to play this.  I change the settings on their profiles and enable multiplayer access.  When one profile enters, it says it needs the leader.  When the group leader enters, we get the multiplayer error message.

Any help or advise would be appreciated, thanks!
